Danaher Corporation Legal & Compliance Digital Transformation Manager - Remote in New York, New York

Danaher Diagnostics Legal and Compliance team provides support the Danaher companies acting in the diagnostic market. Beckman Coulter, Radiometer, HemoCue, Leica Biosystems, Mammotome and Cepheid, all of them premier brands in global healthcare.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Counsel and Global DBS Leader of the DX Legal and Compliance team, you will be a key member of the DX Legal and Compliance Team actively engaged in managing the Legal and Compliance technology projects and infrastructure, as well as supporting the team in the digital transformation journey.

This is a remote-only position. You must be comfortable with setting your own schedule and proactively collaborating in a globally dispersed and diverse team using a variety of communication channels.

The Legal Operations Manager Digital Transformation will be responsible for:

Legal and Compliance Technology Roadmap Management

  • Launch and manage any request for proposal and request for information processes needed to source the best suited technology to cover our legal technology 3 year roadmap.

  • Work with Legal Department Stakeholders, the diverse DX Opcos IT departments, procurement and IT development and external vendors to manage the development and implementation projects of any new legal and compliance technology acquired, repurposed or optimized. Leverage Danaher Business Systems tools in these development and implementation projects.

  • Maintain clear overview and timely updates of project time-lines (charts, spreadsheets, etc.) and progress using project and task management tools, such as VPM, Planner and Miro

  • Work directly with legal and compliance associates to better understand their technology needs, identify any functionality gaps and propose any adjustments to the legal and technology roadmap.

  • Scout the legal technology market by reviewing consultant reports (Gartner/ Forrester) and legal operations conferences (e.g. CLOC, ACC Legal Operations, etc.) to explore new and innovative technology to be included in Legal Technology Roadmap.

Digital Transformation

  • Work with Legal and compliance teams to identify, analyze and document pain points and efficiency opportunities in current processes and design requirements to workflow automation projects to seize such opportunities.

  • Implement directly and/or with the support of external consultants such requirements in the low-code Legal and Compliance Workflow Automation tools.

  • Design, Coordinate and deliver training, support communications and other resources in legal and compliance technology and other general technologies used by Legal and Compliance Associates.

  • Coordinate and support development of other Legal and Compliance associates as developers in the low code Legal and Compliance Workflow automation tools.

Legal and Compliance Technology Governance

  • Together with the Vendors and the Opco IT functions (as applicable), perform as System Administrator duties for the legal and compliance systems, including master data maintenance, user management, software version and enhancements updates.

  • Create, maintain and provide legal and compliance specific documentation (i.e. processes, data schemas, wireframes, system notifications, reference manuals, etc.)

  • Stay current on updates and enhancements of the different systems used by Legal and Compliance Systems. Manage the “ticketing” support model for the legal and compliance technologies.

  • Manage software version updates, corrective options, and requests for enhancements, etc.

  • Collaborate with Legal Operations Analytics Manager to develop low-medium complexity reports and analytics in areas such as budget use, project status, support tickets, awareness and communications, use of Systems, etc.

  • Maintain and manage Legal and Compliance Technology

  • Support the Chief Operations Counsel and Global DBSL on prepare and sustaining the Legal Technology Roadmap Budget.

Qualifications:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Engineering, Business, Management, Law or a related field with 9+ years of proven experience or Master’s with 7+ years.

  • Work experience should include legal operations experience and at least 3 years of experience acting as system admin for legal and compliance specific technologies (CLMs, Matter Management System, Document Management System, etc)

  • Ability to travel (domestic and internationally)-likely 5-10% of time

  • Experience in project management Consulting/influencing skills

  • Will need to be a quick study who can rapidly adapt to Danaher’s culture and gain the confidence of the Diagnostics Legal and compliance organization. This person will be high energy and able to handle conflict. Will be an independent worker, capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power set of tools (PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerQuery and PowerBI)

  • Experience as implementer in Agiloft.

  • Experience in Quickbase. Knowledge of Poppulo and other similar technologies

  • Change management techniques knowledge and experience (ADKAR or similar)

  • Certification in Project Management, specific to software development (VPM, Agile, Scrum or similar)

  • ITIL Foundation certification or similar

  • DBS certified in any of the fundamental tools
