This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team responsible for the support of Cytiva’s Middleware and Integration Technologies linking our Global Corporate information Systems. We are using components such as Boomi, Informatica, AWS and other middleware technologies to join multiple disparate systems and are looking for a Middleware Architect / Development Manager to work with our expert IT team across the world. What you’ll do
The Middleware Architect / Development Manager role will lead the way and be responsible for helping to design and maintain the governance/standards for the middleware platform, and help lead a small team of Middleware Engineers to execute the delivery and support of Cytiva’s Middleware landscape.
The role will participate in tuning, troubleshooting and maintenance activities related to the Middleware platform as the Middleware Development expert. You will also work with developers as a lead to identify changes to existing standards or extend the standards when needed. You will provide technical leadership, guidance, mentorship as required, including instructing, directing, and checking the work of other middleware engineers. This position will be part of the middleware team working with various locations around the world to design and implement business solutions and systems that require middleware functionality. Candidates will have global large-scale middleware solution implementation experience.
This is a new area of responsibility for Cytiva IT, not only taking over responsibility for systems that are currently provided and supported by GE, many of them will continue to be supported for a transitional period under a Services Agreement (TSA), but also to build out a world class platform to help Cytiva accomplish its new goals as part of Danaher Corporation. Working with IT and business stakeholders you will propose strategies for TSA exit of the remaining applications, ensuring that solutions meet Cytiva's business needs, align to the broader Danaher Life Sciences IT ecosystem as appropriate and provide value for money.
Role & Responsibilities
Design and Delivery of Middleware Development Standards.
Define integration requirements through analysis, and design.
Guide software development activities for projects that are not covered under current Middleware standards.
Support the processes that ensure application availability and manage the application life cycle of the Middleware and related applications.
Manage risks associated with program implementation and developing risk mitigation strategies.
Provide technical direction and assistance to stakeholders regarding their integration needs.
Plan, design, implement and document integration processes varying in levels of complexity into production and non-production environments.
Develop test plan specifications, test and debug processes according to plan.
Display initiative, self-motivation and deliver high quality work while at the same time, meeting all deadlines for both internal and external customers.
Support the management of, monitoring and maintaining all Middleware integrations. responding to critical failures, and escalating issues when necessary.
When required, proactively troubleshoot failed integrations or integration components analysing processing errors, identify cause determine possible resolutions, and identify fixes in existing interfaces.
When required, analyze performance of interfaces and take actions to correct deficiencies.
When required, maintain integration configuration and support documentation as integrations are changed, developed, or repurposed.
Who you are
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science of Information Technology or equivalent industry experience.
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in this technical area.
Strong track record of understanding and interest in current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and / or industry activities. Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources.
Experienced with systems roll-outs, facilitating change management, transitions from project phase to on-going systems support.
Proven ability to design and optimize business processes and to integrate business processes across disparate systems.
Experience with enterprise integration tools (Boomi, Informatica, AWS).
Experience with cloud-based middleware/iPaaS platforms.
Demonstrated deployments of enterprise software systems using industry standard environments including XML, HTTP/HTTPS, Java, C++, SQL and ASP.
Understanding of CI/CD tools and methodologies.
Maintain code quality through application of best practices, unit testing and QA and deployment automation.
Knowledge of enterprise systems (CRM, SFA, ERP).
Excellent analysis skills and the ability to develop processes and methodologies.
Knowledge of Incident Management, Change Management (Planning & Execution), ITIL.
Experience in IT security and systems administration.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills.
Experience in working with global groups /outsourcing partners.
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously among changing priorities.
Strong facilitation and negotiation skills across global heavily matrixed organizations.
Experience implementing, designing and enforcing project management methodology and controls.
Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an accelerated timeframe.
Works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems.
Works in a collaborative fashion, elevates team results over individual results.
Provide leadership, technology guidance and mentors others throughout the domain.
Define development standards; conduct code reviews to ensure quality.
Continually look for ways to improve.
Experience with GXP platforms.
Programming experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, C#, SQL, AWS (API Gateways, MFT, S3, Lamda Functions, Athena, Redshift).
Experience / good understanding of Linux/Unix.
