Would you like to support productions you feel passionate about? We have an exciting, remote-based opening at Beckman Coulter to manager our Field Application Scientist (FAS) team.

Territory: Geographically relevant National Team Position (Will manage 7-9 FAS in geographically relevant territories).

Job Description: A candidate primed for success will be a self-starter with keen attention to detail, ability to learn information and apply it to novel situations, and a proven track record of contribution in a team environment.

Critical Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Identify and improve, using DBS tools, such as PSP and Kaizen, at least one aspect of FAS standard work annually and execute administrative/team management responsibilities for direct reports such as:

  • Facilitate Regional Breakout for the scheduled Weekly Applications Team Calls (lead call, record and distribute notes)

  • Build great relationships with fellow FAS team, sales reps and field service engineers so as to unify the overall field customer support experience

  • Contribute to financial growth objectives for Life Science sales and service teams through strategic pricing negotiations for applications support

  • Travel within and outside territory to support business, direct report and customer needs. Job requires travel—up to 50%—on short notice. Must have valid driver’s license and meet Beckman Coulter safe driver criteria


  • Degree in Biology or related life science discipline required. Understanding of Genomics, NGS, Drug Discovery and Cellular Applications required

  • Demonstrates excellence with strategic prioritization

  • Astute at providing constructive peer to peer feedback as well as being coachable and willing to receive feedback

  • Excellent listening and presentation skills

  • Willingness to delegate and drive others to produce results

  • Accepting of accountability for both positive and negative situational outcomes and finding solutions in ambiguous situation

  • Comfortable influencing others/ polished negotiation skills.

  • Preferred: 2+ years field applications experience directly using and programming methods on Life Science Liquid Handlers.
