Position Summary and Overview
The Clinical & Medical Affairs function provides leadership and direction on medical, scientific and clinical decisions related to the overall Leica Biosystems business strategy. The Project Manager, Medical Affairs Operations is responsible for the implementation, execution, and status tracking of a variety of projects, including authoring Medical Affairs standard work processes and providing support for cross-functional initiatives. As an active member of Medical Affairs Operations within the Clinical & Medical Affairs organization, the Project Manager represents the Medical Affairs Operations group on multi-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.
Responsibilities we will trust you with:
This position is responsible for maximizing the Danaher Business System (DBS) and tools to develop and deliver high-quality Medical Affairs Operations standard work processes. This role involves working independently with relevant departments (Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Finance, Marketing, Sales) as advised by the Manager, Medical Affairs Operations, to facilitate Medical Affairs initiatives.
Coordinates with other Medical Affairs team members to identify standard work opportunities. Prioritizes, builds, and maintains standard work documentation for Medical Affairs team.
Provides project management support for cross-functional Medical Affairs objectives and Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement plan deliverables, including advisory boards.
Supports the development of a Medical Affairs platform to track and manage KOL relationships.
Partners with Medical Science Liaisons to further product application, industry position, and market penetration.
Manages Investigator Initiated Studies (IIS), including the intake and review process.
For approved IIS, supports contracting, monitors study progression, invoice processing, and payment tracking. Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with investigators. Reports IIS progress to Manager, Medical Affairs Operations and relevant departments.
Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
BS/BA with 2-4 years proven experience in operations, minimum of 2 years in clinical or medical operations experience
Experience in managing Investigator Initiated Studies and/or knowledge of in vitro diagnostics (IVDs), strongly desired
Experience with project management, PMP a plus
Excellent organizational skills and willingness to continuously improve together with the business. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to be an independent contributor as well as teammate to impact a full range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and related teams
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Periodic travel may be required (up to 30% in non-COVID times)
US Remote, preferably near Leica Biosystems office
