The Sr Global Market Development Manager- BioPharma is responsible for defining and prioritizing the marketing strategy (workflows including products and other solutions) for the defined market and will be responsible for driving all aspects of our SCIEX BioPharma business by defining markets, market problems, conducting VOC, analyzing competitive landscape and identifying new market opportunities.

This position is part of the Global Strategic Marketing Team and will be a remote position.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Own analysis of the BioPharma markets to identify key growth opportunities and strategic initiatives; this includes defining the size of the markets, identifying market problems, and conducting regular VOC to understanding customer needs. This includes defining the customer persona for BioPharma markets and providing this insight to key stakeholders for new product development or existing solutions; identifying and cultivating thought leaders.

  • Build organizational understanding of market trends, customer needs, buying personas, competitive activity and positioning, key applications and workflows. Translate this understanding into a knowledge base accessible to stakeholders across the organization for multiple end-purposes (strategy, innovation, marketing, etc.). This includes providing market specific training content and key account support; liaison with regional marketing teams to get customer feedback and drive growth of the business

  • Explore customer ecosystem and competitive landscape; translate and define requirements for BioPharma workflows, including developing value propositions, value matrices, and key marketing messaging.

  • Advocate for customer needs-driven perspective on portfolio direction and specific innovation projects, including driving key ideation events (P2P, IRL) and persona/positioning development, actively influencing roadmap development, and ensuring critical support to innovation execution (incubation, toll gates, launch).

  • Monitor business results to track key revenue metrics within the market, and develop action plans and countermeasures to address shortfalls.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a Biological or Chemical Science; MS or PhD preferred; demonstrated experience in marketing, business administration, or related field

  • 5+ years’ experience in life sciences marketing, sales, and/or technical role

  • Extensive knowledge of BioPharma markets, trends and segments

  • Deep understanding of BioPharma analytical workflows

  • Broad understanding of mass spectrometry and/or capillary electrophoresis technology

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Translating market knowledge into business strategies

  • Working in a global environment and in a matrix managed organization

  • Collecting and distilling market research and VOC into meaningful strategic direction

The salary range for this role is $135,000 - $140,000. USD. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
