We are seeking to hire a passionate and committed leader who will provide oversight and participation in the implementation of sustainability strategies across our industrial organization. You will ensure compliance, education and partnership for ongoing environmental impact of the work being completed. Authoritatively ensure that the sustainability initiatives adhere to the most economically and environmentally friendly methods possible.

Responsibilities include:

  • Deploying the organization’s sustainability strategy by providing leadership, guidance, and direction. Develops, drives, and tracks usage and cost reduction and avoidance initiatives within scope such as energy, fuel, waste, water, maintenance/repair, indirect services and supplies, and international carbon taxes.

  • Partner with site leadership teams to ensure that planning, programming and justification, including the evaluation and development of the plant’s facilities plan aligns with Pall Industrial’s business goals and objectives.

  • Provide leadership and coordinate with multiple individuals and departments as well as external vendors and outside agencies to meet daily management as well as strategic goals using structured tools / methodologies including Danaher Business System (DBS) tools.

  • This critical global role reports to the Vice President, Global EHS & Facilities and will maintain a matrix reporting relationship with, and provide leadership, development guidance, and mentoring for all site-based Pall Industrial facilities.

  • Develops and executes facilities and environmental sustainability strategies for global operations and significant commercial sites.

  • Serves as Subject Matter Authority regarding building, energy management, and environmental sustainability systems.

  • Coordinates global facilities and energy management data collection, internally verifies data, and executes analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and facilitates environmental sustainability communication and reporting.

  • Use a well-adapted (DBS Methodology, similar to Kaizen) approach to develop & implement global energy management and waste minimization processes to improve environmental sustainability and optimize costs associated with energy, utilities, and waste disposal.

  • Advises, coaches and supports facilities and EHS management teams in identifying, scoping and implementing energy savings and sustainability improvements.

  • Handles the global facilities & energy kaizen and project funnel, bowler charts, and Daily Management tools.

  • Partners with sourcing to provide advice to optimize cost and service levels related to utility contracts, plant maintenance, security, grounds management, janitorial, vendor management, expense management, and technical project management to maintain and improve facility infrastructure efficiency, performance, and reliability.

  • Builds and maintains a strong relationship with operations and site leaders by reporting goals, progress, opportunities, and challenges on a regular cadence.

  • Directly supports internal engineering and technology organizations by providing resources and tools to assemble environmental sustainability initiatives.

  • Establishes relationships with R&D and Sales and Marketing to collaborate with key customers on sustainability goals and Initiatives. Using voice of customer, evolve the product design process to introduce sustainability concepts and practices.

  • Partners with Corporate Communication team to develop a company-wide communication plan regarding facilities and sustainability goals, initiatives, and activities.

  • Collaborates with other Danaher OpCo energy specialists and sustainability leaders and SME’s to benchmark what “good” looks like.

  • Lead Pall Industrial Corporations’ environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitment to customers. This will include direct social, environmental, and EHS queries, third party environmental assessment system maintenance and upkeep, and support of internal energy & environmental sustainability programs and systems.

  • Serves as system administrator for ESG reporting systems including EcoDesk, EcoVadis, RBA, CDP and internal sustainability reporting software

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) with focus in Environmental Management & Sustainability, Occupational Safety & Health Management, Industrial Hygiene.

  • Five or more years current professional experience in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) or sustainability program development & implementation

  • Three or more years' experience leading energy and water reduction, recycling, reuse, and waste management projects.

  • Extensive experience driving projects and handling data using lean and six sigma tools such as problem solving, value stream mapping and kaizen events.

  • Strong knowledge of ESG reporting systems including EcoDesk, EcoVadis, RBA, CDP and internal sustainability reporting software.

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.

  • Excellent time management skills with an ability to lead and motivate cross functional teams and partners.

  • Ability to influence across functions and levels within the organization.

  • Ability to travel globally at approximately 40 % with demonstrated ability of providing onsite EHS / Sustainability oversight. Multiple manufacturing / industrial sites is required.

  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, water, electricity, machine control, EMS/BMS, preventive maintenance, energy & sustainability, and building management applications and systems is preferred.

  • Ability to work remotely. Desired locations include near a Pall industrial facility including Central Florida, Maryland, Connecticut, New York and potentially UK, Germany or France.

  • Strong leadership, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, as individual contributor, and in teams in fast paced, stretch goal environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communications, presentation and negotiation skills

  • System administration skills in systems like SAP, Gensuite or similar EHS enterprise data management system is a plus.

  • Desired certifications to include any of the following : Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP), Certified Facility Manager (CFM)

  • Master Black Belt, six Sigma, Problem Solving, LEAN OpEx, lean manufacturing is desired.

  • Must have valid passport or ability to obtain.

  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time, ability to climb ladders and stairways as well as ability to lift weight up to 30 lbs.

  • This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status, or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
