Description
The Project Manager will be part of a dynamic Applications Team within Leica Biosystems. This person will be directly involved with both pre- and post-sales activities for the North America Selling Unit. He/she will capture all aspects of ePathology projects including technical requirements, customer and workflow needs, tasks assigned to both internal and external individuals, communication among all parties involved in the projects and have the ability to successfully drive implementation projects from inception to completion. The selected candidate will play an integral role in ensuring successful implementation of Leica ePathology Solutions leading to high customer satisfaction.


Major Responsibilities*


• Responsible for oversight on all aspects of e-Pathology projects (quality, scope, schedule, on-time delivery) • Support large scale e-Pathology implementation efforts by serving as a project lead/liaison between the customer, the Selling Unit (SU), and the Business Unit (BU). • The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of e-Pathology Solutions (hardware & software) to meet the need of customers. This includes the following activities: o Planning - project definitions/customer needs, work/product breakdown structures, and schedules. o Tracking - schedules, project timeline risks/issues. o Coordinating and interfacing - internal work groups and departments and external organizations that are working on the project. o Communicating - all project activities to project team members, and stakeholders (i.e. functional Managers, other project managers, IT groups, and senior management). o Team building - creating a sense of team, organization with a purpose and excitement. • Drive on time delivery of implementations to support monthly, quarterly, annual revenue goals for the e-Pathology products. • Hold Business Unit (BU) accountable for progress, action, and completion of custom LIS projects and closing out backlog integrations to successfully recognize revenue. • Specific Accountabilities in a collaborative role with Manager of Applications and the Business Unit Software Product Manager are: Integration feasibility, Quality Assurance (Attention to Detail, Software Validation and Documentation), Project Management and LIS-Event Management. • Provide status updates to Director of Applications, including but not limited to, project status customer issues, target account lists, expense reports and calendar.

Qualification

Education: B.A./ B.S. Must possess valid driver’s license Experience/Skills: • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in project management • Laboratory Information System implementation and/or integration • Superior verbal and written skills • Proficient in standard computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project Management software)


Desired Education, Experience, Skills*


Education: BA/BS in Life Sciences, Information Systems or related field Experience/Skills: • 5 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years in Project Management Project management or Lead roles in project implementations using formal project management methodology, techniques and tools. • Demonstrated expertise in creating project deliverables such as project charter, project management plan, status reports, project timesheets, Gantt Charts, communications plan, budget, schedule, record. • PMP certification preferred • Strong, demonstrated leadership on large scale implementation project • Knowledge of Pathology Laboratory workflow • A clear vision of what determines a successful project for the customer and for the organization • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to work well with people from different disciplines; effective communication with senior management, clients, peers and team members. • Demonstrated experience in running meetings and leading conversations related to software/hardware implementations and IT subjects. • Demonstrated experience in managing issues, scope and quality while bringing projects to successful completion within the cost and time requirements
