Danaher Corporation Calibration Technician I in Newark, California


  • Perform various duties inclusive of calibration, testing, maintenance and repairs of electrical, mechanical and electronic equipment and instruments in line with established SOP’s and quality and regulatory standards

  • Perform calibration, testing, maintenance and repair on molecular diagnostic systems and modules in line with established SOP’s and quality and regulatory standards

  • Document calibration data and prepare reports, as required.

  • Ensure schedule adherence to meet cGMP compliance and production needs

  • Monitor and complete all business tasks within established timeframe and ensure optimal quality

  • Coordinate with various internal departments to ensure calibrations are completed within established interval due dates

  • Schedule onsite calibration events with external service providers in coordination with equipment/instrument owners to minimize production down time.

  • Monitor and communicate coming due calibrations to internal customers for equipment/instruments requiring offsite calibration by external calibration service providers

  • Maintain control and traceability related to instruments calibrated internally and by external service providers

  • Initiate and distribute non-conforming event (Out of Tolerance) investigations to affected internal customers and provide support as needed to drive investigation to completion within required timeframe

  • Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

Education and Experience (in years):

  • High School degree (our equivalent experience) with 2-4 years of related work experience OR

  • AA or Technical Trade Degree with 1-2 years of related work experience

  • Experience working in a cGMP environment

Knowledge and skills:

  • Sound knowledge of FDA, cGMP, and ISO standards

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment/instruments

  • Strong knowledge of digital/analog input/outputs and loop calibration methodologies

  • Ability to read and understanding electrical schematics and P&IDs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate across the organization

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Practical experience and knowledge of administrative functionality within various regulatory asset (calibration or maintenance) management platforms; experience with Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager a plus

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
