ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and audit GMP/GLP compliance within production labs
Perform regular inspections & audits of labs to ensure adherence to company policies, guidelines, SOPs, and Biosafety program.
Report audit findings to appropriate management and follow-up on changes/fixes implemented
Collaborate with the Facilities Janitorial Group to ensure adherence to cleaning standards
Update laboratory signage as needed
Maintain stock levels and restock consumable lab supplies as needed
Perform lab maintenance tasks such as replacing bleach baths and refilling PPE supplies
Perform surveillance swabbing and testing on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
Train in using the GeneXpert systems for routine surveillance testing
Train in specific production line tasks as needed if specific process improvements are needed
Audit and revise laboratory SOPs to ensure physical processes match the existing SOPs
Serve as point of contact with facilities to address open lab issues/tickets
Maintain monthly maintenance & cleaning of GeneXpert systems in specific labs
Provide training to new associates in lab maintenance expectations at Cepheid
Provide support during the expansion and remodeling projects of the labs
Support production supervisors and managers with lab specific projects
Become proficient in 5S and Standard Work lean concepts
Work with area owners to clean, reorganize production & storage areas to optimize space
Coordinate with laboratory coat vendor to order new lab coats and maintain supply of lab coats
Review and provide feedback on process improvement proposals within manufacturing group
Present audit findings and updates in presentation format in small and large group settings
Lead facility and process improvement initiatives as assigned by manager
Build strong communication and collaboration channels with stakeholder groups and individuals
Support Safety Champions in maintaining safety within manufacturing labs
Support manufacturing associates to maintain a standard of safety and excellence within our labs
Work effectively within the team through collaboration and teamwork to complete assigned tasks
Participate in other lab improvement projects as needed
Education or Experience (in years):
High School diploma or equivalent education and experience; Bachelors preferred, understanding of laboratories equipment.
2+ years of related work experience in an FDA/ISO regulated manufacturing facility, public health laboratory or similar institution
Knowledge and Familiarity with working in Biosafety Level 1 (BSL1) laboratories
Familiarities with working in Class A laboratories.
Basic computer skills
Hands -on and fluent with basic lab equipment
Knowledge of Biosafety Level 2
Passion for continuous process in the labs
Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with sterilizing/cleaning equipment is required.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of professional personnel and strong team player
Ability to follow oral and written procedures
Organized and capable of working independently under minimal supervision
Must be a self-starter with strong focus on quality, attention to detail and delivering results
- Ability to work in an office environment. Ability to work in a laboratory environment.
Preferred Requirements (optional):
Experience in a clinical diagnostic or medical device environment
Statistical, Lean, and Six Sigma training
cGMP/GLP experience is highly preferred
