Danaher Corporation Manufacturing Associate III (Team C) in Newark, California

  • Responsible for the production of injection molded consumables within the Lodi facility controlled environments

  • Adherence to applicable health and safety procedures and will be required to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment

  • Trains Manufacturing Associate I and II on quality, operations and safety adherence

  • Maintains safety standards, cleanroom standards, practices, and housekeeping according to Standard Operating Procedures

  • Performs periodic audits

  • Assists supervisors in the verification of Associate I and Associate II activities

  • Performs functional tests and dimensional inspection

  • Performs in-process quality control inspections

  • Troubleshoots and issues a Problem Issue Report to resolve non-conforming product as applicable

  • Responsible for verifying the calibration of inspection equipment used

  • Coordinates breaks and lunch so that the manufacturing area maintains continuous operation without interruption

  • Verifies the daily management of scrap and reporting of production issues

  • Reports supply shortages in accordance with Kan Ban

  • Performs visual inspections

  • Provides intermediate troubleshooting and guidance for Associates on specifications or acceptance

  • Responsible for completing necessary documentation, maintaining traceability, and escalating accordingly

  • Generates the Problem Issue Report as necessary to resolve tooling or mold related issues

  • Assists with special projects in collaboration with cross functional teams

  • Lead a small team to project completion

  • Perform basic leadership skills to solve problems

  • Support Supervisor/Lead in managing day to day operation

  • Assist in SOP/WI creation as needed

  • Being trained and capable to run Micro-Vu operations

  • Perform & audit safety processes & protocol as needed

  • Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Education or Experience (in years):

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience with minimum of 3-4 year experience as a Machine Operator or Quality Control role OR

  • AA Degree or higher in related field

Knowledge and skills:

  • Basic knowledge of Cepheid’s products and Critical to function areas

  • Understands lot closure criteria

  • Intermediate understanding of traceability and quality systems

  • Focuses efforts on achieving SMART objectives aligned to the company’s strategic imperatives

  • Accomplishes Inspection, Data, and Problem Solving

Technical Skills:

  • Mechanical, Quality, and Compliance Aptitude

  • Problem Solving, Quality Data, and Mathematics

  • General computation to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of all units of measure including whole numbers, common fractions, metric measurement, decimals

  • Capable of using data to make determinations to resolve production related issues

  • Inspection and Inspection equipment

  • Basic to Intermediate computer software skills: Apple iPad equipment, Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe PDF)

Physical requirements/abilities:

  • Ability to work in a clean room environment.

  • Ability to visually determine quality characteristics.

  • Skilled hand-eye coordination is imperative for handling critical parts.

  • Must have appropriate vision to perform detailed quality inspection as outlined in the SOPs, WIs, control plans, visual aids, and product drawings

  • Ability to stand at workstation for extended periods of time (8 hours or more) operating equipment and packaging products while closely monitoring and visually inspecting products and process

  • Ability to lift or carry 25 lbs. totes

  • Moves freely around machine to assure all working mechanisms are operating properly

  • Able to reach parts in machine to make adjustments, minor repairs, set-ups, change overs, inspections, feeding, and securing parts

  • Experience working in a clean room environment

  • Takes ownership of personal actions and outcomes; encourages and empowers others to do the same

  • Basic to proficient Print or photo capture: Dynalite software, Micro-vu capture, Color rotation, File resolution

  • Experience using Zebra printer
