Danaher Corporation Manufacturing Trainer Coordinator in Newark, California
The goal of the Manufacturing Trainer is to maintain training compliance, teach operational standards, audit for training compliance and drive continuous improvements in assigned areas. The training coordinator may have responsibilities including oversight of new associates onboarding and training, developing training resources and documents, coordination and facilitating training. The training coordinator may also have responsibilities including manufacturing, distribution, assembly, packaging, and shipping product. In addition, this person in this position is responsible to have specialized knowledge, skills and abilities relating to all operations related processes and procedures. This candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, extremely organized and fully prepared with training material delivery. A well-qualified candidate will have the ability to remain focused and be able to orchestrate effective and engaging training. This position reports to the Training Manger.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure all SOP binders have the correct revision with the relevant SOP’s for each Production Area
Ensure that any rev change to a procedure is clearly communicated to the affected Production Area.
Work with the Area Supervisors and/or Production Lead to schedule training to the new revision.
Follow relevant procedure to ensure Training Records are tracked.
Assist FI, PE to train MFG on PDRs or NC’s that will impact MFG
Conduct New Hire Orientation on site SOP’s, Quality Management Systems including GDP.
Coordinate with Supervisor regarding assigned workstation and trainer.
Assess instruction effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects KPI’s.
Assist with identifying and assessing knowledge and skill gaps within the organization.
Assist with creation of curriculums, training materials and testing materials for employees, including online and distance training
Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to train and educate associates to enhance performance.
Periodic checks with Trainer/Trainee - collection of feedback to improve training strategy and process.
Review OJT form for completeness, accuracy, GDP.
Work with Process Engineers, Managers and Production Supervisors on strategic training for ramp up Training.
Conduct training on manufacturing employees and office employees on MPI and SOP changes.
Identify and communicate root cause and plan of action for training improvements
Prepare reports/ presentations for site training completion, GDP metrics and overall improvements project status on monthly basis.
Support and participate in audits such as FDA, ISO, and any other audit as requested.
Perform weekly audits in manufacturing to ensure compliance
Review and modify curriculums and/or user groups per department manager’s and HR requests.
Maintain reports (adding or removing recipients, modifying the report)
Maintain the list of all types of reports generated (Qualification Matrix, Incomplete, Completed, Trainer Qualification, Signer Groups, Annual Refresher training) per site.
Assist in troubleshooting (log in, unable to view docs)
Assist in navigating into Compliance Wire for new hires and regular employees.
Verify new hires are pulled into the new hire path and role-based user groups to be in compliant according to their job description.
Monitor pending and aged OJT in Compliance Wire.
Maintain training records in Compliance wire and track on-time site training completion.
Update and upload new released documents as applicable
Distribution of latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure that down rev, obsolete documentation is removed.
Maintain a computer database of all filed documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents.
Develop and create necessary training methods in Compliance Wire or any other software system approved by Cepheid Danaher
Chart the course of training completions by groups and informed Supervisor and Managers of progress
Coordinate logistics of training events including vendors, instructors, participants, rooms, materials and equipment.
Facilitate, instruct, present and/or assess various training programs and associate’s evaluations.
Effectively track, evaluate and analyze training programs by examining learner’s satisfaction, proficiency testing and job performance.
Audit various processes for adherence to standards and/or participate in customer audits.
Successfully master and utilize “Training Within Industry” and “Train-the-Trainer” methodologies.
Follow work procedures and schematics including complex instructions regarding duties to be performed.
Aware of and comply with the Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job position
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Comply with EHS regulations and policies.

Education and Experience (in years):
- High school degree (or equivalent experience) with 1-2 years of relevant work experience
Knowledge and skills:
Good communication and presentations skills, both written and oral to build trusting partnership with key stakeholders to deliver solutions.
Ability to summarize/explain / present training in technical and non-technical terms.
Self-motivated, highly-focused detail-oriented as well as a team player with high energy levels and the desire to learn and progress within the company.
Work effectively with others and understands that every person learns differently.
Adaptive style for training
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours. Work may involve repetitive arm/wrist motions.
