Position Summary and Overview This position will support with the procurement of indirect spend goods and services for the Newcastle, Dublin and Amsterdam facility. Other locations might be added as appropriate. He/She will support local Associates, once a need has been identified, to find services providers who can supply these goods and services, to negotiate the pricing and ensure that the best terms and conditions possible are negotiated. They will assist in supplier management and also in reviewing the spend of the sites to determine potential cost saving areas and to support in implementing improvement schemes such as for payment terms or specific targeted areas of spend. The indirect spend volume of the focused facilities represents a spend volume of approximately $ 9M. Major Responsibilities The Indirect Spend Specialist will: • Work with local Associates to identify and understand indirect spend needs • Support Associates with setting up suppliers and ensuring correct documentation is in place • Prepare and execute tenders; utilizing RFIs, RFPs, and reverse auctions • Negotiate with suppliers to implement pricing agreements and ensure T’s and C’s are optimized and key areas such as GDPR are covered • Review existing terms and conditions with a view to improving them year on year • Ensure contracts and agreements are uploaded to the iContract tool to allow annual management of contracts • Gather and analyze spend and price data • Work with Associates to identify savings opportunities • Build and maintain sustainable project saving funnels • Participate in and lead workshops and kaizen events • Execute indirect spend projects • Analyze, report, and monitor project savings • Supplier management: o Evaluate and select preferred suppliers o Ensure use of preferred suppliers across the different facilities o Build relationships with suppliers o Manage and improve supplier performance o Conduct routine supplier business review with key spend suppliers o Support the primary goals for quality, on-time delivery and growth • Support the Indirect Spend Specialists in each region to roll out policies, processes and strategic partners. • Support with the roll out of commodity strategies • Provide training to Associates in the following areas: iBuy, MobileXpense, Concur travel tool, iContract • Act as an everyday point of contact for queries on the above tools • Monitor compliance to LBS procurement policies Measurements Will include but not limited to: • Year-over-year improvement in indirect costs of the business as measured (e.g. project based savings) • On-time and successful completion of savings projects • Continuous improvement in supplier performance • Increased use of preferred suppliers across the locations • Improved payment terms • Contracts to be uploaded and managed in iContract Key Relationships • Interacts with cost center/project owners and Regional Danaher Commodity Leaders • Danaher Corporate • Frequently communicates with, and visits suppliers to establish the appropriate commercial framework for LBS needs and to relay the required processes for doing business with LBS companies
Required Skills/Experience// · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Advanced skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel · Strong market knowledge and experience in working across various functions, businesses and regions · Ability to collect, analyze and integrate information · Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, rates, proportions, percentages. · Good organizational skills · Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure · Experience with Purchasing Contracts and with negotiating pricing · Good analytical, problem solving and project management skills · Experience in indirect procurement would be an asset
Education · Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
