We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manufacturing Automation Engineer to support our Operational Value Streams and provide support and coaching within the Technical Team!


  • Provide mentorship to a Technical Team for all activity within remit.

  • Be the technical lead of Quality and Performance related opportunities, working with technical team to keep business running with minimal downtime and optimal yields.

  • Generate new/improved Production documentation including Specifications, PPM, Training Instructions and process controls.

  • Ensure product is manufactured to Pall specifications within remit and maintain compliance within team.

  • Purchase and validation of new machinery or changes to manufacturing by efficiently following Pall Newquay Change Control processes.

  • Drive and lead agreed cost savings projects to the Business via process improvements and waste reduction initiatives.

  • Project manage capital projects from initial feasibility through to successful completion and control the budgets.

  • Support and mentor the relevant technical team.

Education & Proficiencies:

  • Degree in Engineering with a focus around Electromechanical /Controls/ Automation Engineering or another related subject area.

  • Previous Experience in a related Manufacturing Engineering role, ideally in an automated/volume manufacturing environment.

  • Problem Solver who is excels in situations around complex automation equipment in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Experienced in the use of Allen Bradley/Omron/Siemens PLC/HMI/Servo software packages!

  • Able to fault find and optimisation of Cognex Vision Systems and Omron/Adept Robotics.

  • Can adapt and support other manufacturers automation and apply fault finding to both legacy automation and state-of-the-art automation equipment.

  • Experience of Ultrasonic and RF plastic welding is also advantageous.

  • Able to effectively supervise external contract engineers and suppliers.

  • Understanding and working practice of statistical tools (Six Sigma).
