Danaher Corporation Project Engineer in Newquay, United Kingdom
A Project Engineer with a Mechanical bias is required at one of our global expanding Pall manufacturing sites based near Newquay, Cornwall, UK. The Project Engineer will lead and support project engineering activities within the manufacturing plant, and align with our continual growth with staff numbers currently at c550
A big part of your role will be to lead capital and non-capital projects to meet general business objectives of product quality, manufactured cost reduction, product delivery, capacity growth, and productivity improvement. Generating, managing, and reporting on project financial justifications and project budgets. Building and leading teams in pursuit objectives
Other aspects of the role will include:
Project initiation phase, planning phase, execution phase, and evaluation phase development and execution.
Development and application of work breakdown structures, Gantt chart structures, Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) chart structures, and/or network diagrams.
Equipment & Process Design
Project team recruitment, management, coordination, and supervision.
Application of the above in projects with total project values of > £10 million.
Develops financial justifications for the project, including simple Return on Investment analysis, Return on Equity analysis, Return on Capital analysis and/or other justifications as may be required.
Generates project work scope definition, development, drafting, bid submission, bid evaluation, and contract management, particularly in the context of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) contracting as well as General Contractor building activities.
Minimum Qualifications and Competencies:
Knowledge of engineering fundamentals as typically acquired by completion of a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, engineering technology, or other engineering subject area however technically equivalent field experience would also be a great option for this position
Proven experience in mechanical design, process engineering, manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and/or R&D.
Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
Experience in AutoCAD, any version (required)
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their direct impact on the final product as well as the associated business influences
Working knowledge of manufacturing business unit practices and principles in a regulatory environment.
Ability or potential to lead cross-functional technical teams.
Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments (DOE), Measurement Systems Analysis, and statistical hypothesis testing.
Working knowledge and experience with product and process validation methods
Working knowledge and experience with Lean Six Sigma and/or structured problem-solving approaches.
Working knowledge and experience with risk assessment and risk mitigation techniques.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in oral and written forms at any level within the organization and interact effectively with customers and external business professionals.
Ability to prioritize activities and to remain flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Salary Negotiable: c£50,000 dependant on experience
