Summary purpose of the position:

The Project Manager is the critical link between major operations and functional engineering groups / surveyors as well as the coordination for external contractors. The Project Manager is responsible for aligning the cross-functional teams to line of balance commitments to the customer and deliver the project(s) in the safest manner to people and the environment. A successful Project Manager will need to work at the tactical and technical level and to drive out inefficiencies in communication and planning and lead up to establish areas for improvement in the organisation.

Main duties are:

  • Coordinate internal operations functions to meet project timeline and quality and EHS commitments, generation of projects plans, and resolution of program issues for major OEM accounts. Ability to mitigate risks (50%)

  • Apply leadership at the tactical level to hold cross-functional team members accountable for commitments to the business. (20%)

  • Liaise with Sub contract leaders to make timely decisions to improve on-time delivery. (10%)

  • VPM system and daily management to communicate line of balance reports to major customers. (10%)

  • Identify opportunities for improvement (10%)

Knowledge & Key Skills:

  • Project Management experience

  • Experience in managing high technology projects

  • Strong oral & presentation skills

  • High level of self-confidence, drive, determination & ability to work independently

  • Experience of working with cross functional teams within large multinational customers.

  • Ability to prioritise actions, delegate effectively & work to agreed timescales

  • Good working knowledge of Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations, Building Control and general Design Management

  • Experience in FMCG manufacturing and/or chemical process manufacturing

Essential Qualifications/Education:

  • BSc/BEng or equivalent

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the ability to attain PMP within 1 year of hire

  • Health and Safety Qualifications e.g. NEBOSH Construction

  • CSCS Managers card

Essential Previous Experience:

  • Significant Project Management experience

  • Hold a clean driving license

  • Travel : up to 25%
