What You Can Expect:

Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Follows engineering drawings, work order information, Manufacturing Assembly Procedures, SOPs, and other written and verbal specifications in the manufacturing process. Troubleshoots and repairs machinery and equipment according to established documentation (e.g., SOPs), blueprints or other drawings. Performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of components, measuring instruments, and machinery. Uses hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous machines and equipment. Includes Machine Operator, Process Operations, and Production Technician roles.

  • Responsible for fabrication and in-process inspection of precision components using a variety of specialized equipment according to predefined methods.

  • Documents process and inspection results and verifies compliance to existing specifications.

  • May complete re-work on components as required.

  • Manufacture of precision medical instrument components from sapphire, ruby, and fused silica using a laser, lapping machines, and polishing machines.

Must Have:

  • High School education or higher

  • Job Shop or similar precision machining background

  • Troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and calibration experience

  • Components produced are very small and require the ability to use tweezers, vacuum pickup tools, microscopes, and vision systems.
