The QC Biochemist (Bioburden Testing) for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics will support the Blood Virus business, primarily with the execution of microbiological testing for validation/routine product and environmental test requirements to ensure that the QC function can support/enable the manufacture and testing of Blood Virus products as required by the project timelines.
This position is part of the Quality Control Department and will be located at our Co.Clare facility. This is a temporary position until end July 2021.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
Qualification of Bioburden test media
Sampling and testing of multiple Purified Water points
Sampling and testing of non-viable and viable environmental monitoring
Pre-fill and post-fill bioburden testing
Management of bioburden testing material stock
Ensuring that Good Laboratory Practice and safety standards are maintained.
Testing and generation of reports for Environmental and Purified Water Monitoring and Microbiological analysis in accordance with relevant SOPs.
Responsibility for rotated laboratory duties including; - calibration, temperature and humidity chart monitoring, maintenance programmes, managing laboratory disposable stocks, housekeeping, autoclave waste management etc.
Ensuring that QC equipment and analysers are maintained in accordance with relevant SOP’s.
Ensuring personal training records are maintained.
Creation and update of QC procedures when required.
Liaison with other departments on existing products and new product transfer etc.
Training of new employees.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s Degree (Honours Level 8) in a Science discipline, preferably with a microbiological background.
A good knowledge of GMP, ISO/FDA requirements and computer literacy is required.
Previous laboratory experience desirable.
Good working knowledge of GMP & Quality & Safety standards.
Excellent analytical skills.
Familiarity with the use of standard laboratory equipment and the application of aseptic techniques.
Excellent record keeping and high accuracy and attention to detail.
