Senior Technical Sales Consultant - Outside Sales

General Summary

The Senior Technical Sales Consultant working in outside sales will be responsible for maintaining and managing a specific sales territory within the UK and Ireland region. You will be responsible for implementing a sales strategy, building strong customer relationships through face to face visits and driving revenue in your accounts that will allow you to meet and exceed sales, gross profit and unit goals.

Responsibilities

  • Visiting customers in their laboratories or workplace, providing product/training presentations and attending conferences where appropriate

  • Selling Chromatography consumables, providing a high level of Technical Advice and Customer Service to your customer base.

  • Identifying new prospective buyers within your territory, and originating communication with customers.

  • Managing your assigned territory as if it were your own business, ensuring the territory meets sales, profit, and unit goals.

  • Developing relationships with new and existing customers.

  • Developing business plans, market analysis, and sales strategies for assigned territory.

  • Consistently maintaining a positive attitude, being a team player, striving to learn and contributing to company culture.

The Person

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Chemistry or any Life Science

  • Minimum 2 years sales experience with proven track record for successfully reaching and surpassing revenue goals

  • Laboratory experience is advantageous.

  • Analytical thinking and able to confidently present ideas

  • Strong knowledge of the chromatography market is advantageous

  • Strong organisational skills, ability to plan and assign resources in a detailed fashion

  • Motivation and desire to be successful with a “can do” approach

  • Strong communication skills

  • Personable manner and maintain a professional appearance

  • Valid driver’s license is required.
