Introducing your new team and the setup
The job is a role located in Clare, Ireland, where we are investing in and developing our logistic setup. We need your help to set the direction for dealing with the excellent growth rates that we are experiencing in our High Growth Markets. This involves activities to improve on time delivery and reduce transportation costs.
We are building a strong team to help succeed with our strategy for the HGM. Reporting to the Senior Manager Transportation EMEAI and collaborating with our Transportation Analyst and Transportation Specialist peers you can expect to find qualified colleagues to help succeeding.
Expect to develop a very good understanding of the local markets and collaborating closely with local teams to utilize their knowledge when taking care of shipments and carriers.
Key tasks summed up:
Close connection to High Growth Market Teams to understand customer requirements
Review, analyze, monitor, and manage transportation activity and spend for assigned lanes, shipping warehouses and carriers
Design and implement initiatives to save costs improves service, quality and sustainability
Manage tender (RFQ) processes with carriers and freight forwarders
Design appropriate inbound & outbound road/air networks utilizing a proper mix of Full Truck Load, Less Than Truck Load, and Parcel carriers. Work with internal stakeholders to implement underlying projects
Able to present results and recommendations of identified initiatives to senior management and stakeholders
Have regular meetings with the sites in the regions and the main carriers
Responsible for monitoring and assessing carrier performance
Rate negotiations and setting up Service Level Agreements
Use best transportation practices across Beckman Coulter globally
Utilize DBS (Danaher Business Systems) by applying Daily Management and Problem Solving to everyday work
Participate in interdepartmental continuous improvement projects
Perform a variety of other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of transportation, supply chain, and business finances
At least 7+ years relevant transportation experience, including preparation and implementation of transportation projects
Knowledge and experience in transport modes: Parcel / LTL / FTL / Air / Ocean as well as experience from working with as many of our HGM regions as possible
Understanding of Transport Management Systems
Project management - and good collaboration skills
Have worked for a large, multi-modal, high volume shipper with global scope
Demonstrates Beckman Coulter’s vision, values, and principles and displays integrity and ethics in all interactions
Willingness to travel 30-40% and ability to understand different cultures
Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication and listening skills. Possesses the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
Honours Bachelor Degree (Level 8) in relevant field
Ability to read, write and speak English fluently, additional language a plus.
