With Pall’s Equipment Support Hotline team, provide automation technical support via phone to external customers and/or e-mail support to internal OpCo functions (engineers, technicians, and product support personnel) by triaging, diagnosing, and problem-solving in real-time computer system issues, sophisticated software, network and wireless systems. Responds to situations with focus and builds urgency to support malfunctioning equipment or software and triages issue to resolution, to the escalation process and positioning of a field service engineer onsite to improve OTD of services to customers. Reports software design, reliability issues, problems or bugs to design engineering/software engineering. The position reports to the Manager, Equipment Support Hotline within Global Product Support and the Global Service organization. The role is dedicated to supporting all aspects of Pall Biotech systems automation, software, and networking. This is a Remote (USA) position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering or Computer Science; or equivalent experience in a similar role.

  • High School diploma/GED required.

  • Excellent Automation-related troubleshooting and Problem-Solving skills.

  • Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Strong analytical skills.

Essential Job Functions – Hotline Automation Technical Subject Matter Expertise

  1. Develop experienced level knowledge of existing systems from an automation and software perspective and acquire applications and hardware knowledge to aid in problem diagnosis and resolution over the phone.

  2. Develop as overall system subject-matter-expert (SME) on Pall systems with strong emphasis on automation, network and software support.

  3. Work with PLC and HMI programming (e.g. Siemens, Rockwell, Wonderware systems platform)

  4. Support acceleration of technical system issues; support SCADA systems.

  5. Support common communication protocols (OPC-UA, Modbus).

  6. Adherence to Export Control regulations.

  7. Knowledgeable with 21 CFR part 11; knowledgeable with regulatory requirements GMP, GAMP, ISO, and FDA.

Essential Job Functions –Automation, Networking, and Software Training Support

  1. Collaborate with support service instructors who develop, maintain, and implement Automation technical skills-standards for use in training classes.

  2. Use lessons learned from hotline data to support training opportunities, process, and product improvements.

  3. Provide relevant coaching, guidance, feedback, and mentorship to other agents.

11.Partner with training team to develop other associates subject-matter-expertise in automation, networking, and software-related support.

Other Functions

  1. Collaborate with all partners by demonstrating DBS tools for ongoing process improvement.

  2. Solicit feedback to be used as part of DBS Continuous Process Improvement.
