The Manager, Federal Health Policy & Reimbursement Policy for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for identifying and leading Medicare coverage and payment policy strategies that will enable favorable reimbursement for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics products and technologies.

This position is part of the Global Market Access, Health Economics & Policy Team and is fully remote in either the Eastern or Central time zone. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Global Market, Health Economics & Policy Team and report to the Director, Global Market Access, Health Economics & Policy responsible for developing and leading Medicare coverage and payment policy and reimbursement strategies for a portfolio of innovative products and technologies.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Assess, develop and execute on market access, federal health policy and reimbursement strategies for innovative IVD products and technologies

  • Monitor and identify market access and reimbursement opportunities and potential headwinds under the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) health programs, payment systems and reimbursement policies

  • Analyze, quantify and communicate potential business impacts of CMS and its contractor's coding, coverage and payment policies

  • Lead and support internal and external stakeholder (e.g., coalition, trade association) advocacy efforts to improve CMS coverage pathways and payment policies to ensure favorable access and reimbursement for existing and novel products and technologies

  • Prepare comment letters, policy briefs, publications, and other persuasive communications and resources to support policy objectives

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 9+ years’ experience OR Master's Degree with 7+ years’ experience in IVD Health Policy and Reimbursement similar relevant expertise OR 10+ years’ Medicare FFS policy & reimbursement experience.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products: PowerPoint (animation, graphics, infographics, explainers); Excel (advanced data analytics, visuals such as charts, dashboards and other visuals; database creation and management); Teams (Whiteboard, Forms, Surveys, OneNote, e.g.)

  • 5+ years of continuous, recent IVD industry experience developing and leading Medicare health policy & reimbursement strategies across CMS payment systems, fee schedules, quality programs and initiatives (e.g., IPPS, OPPS, ASC, PFS, MIPS, CMMI, APMs, ACOs, etc.)

  • Ability to apply insights and analytical skills, critical thinking and sound judgment to solve problems with limited information

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, estimated to be 15% - 25%

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Professional coding certification via the American Academy of Professional Coders (e.g., CPC), American Health Information Management Association (e.g., RHIA) or other relevant accredited coding organization.

  • Exceptional storytelling, communication and public speaking skills

The salary range for this role is $140-170K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
