A Calibration Technician II will perform calibrations, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair on measurement and process control equipment including: temperature, electrical/electronic, and hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical process controllers including all input/output devices. Assist in assuring program compliance with Pall Pensacola and ISO standards. Under supervision, build analog or digital electrical control panels and/or other similar controllers. Prioritize daily work to meet business team needs. This person works with little or no supervision and must be capable of working independently. Supports and follows lean manufacturing practices, including Kaizen and 5s activities. This person may be required to train other employees.
Essential Job Functions: Performs basic to advance calibrations on measurement and process control equipment using standard procedures and experience; Find and check accuracy of calibration points using algebraic and trigonometric as required; Troubleshoots basic to advanced problems with measurement and/or control equipment; Perform normal to complex calibrations with minimal direction; Write or update calibration procedures or similar documents; Identify, document and correct potential and/or existing equipment and /or process related problems relative to the metrology functions; Document all work in the MVP Plant system (including all time allocated to Calibrations); Detail all calibrations for traceability in the Metrology Calibrations Module; Completes purchase orders requests and use purchasing card accurately; Prioritize daily work in order to support the business teams and production schedules.
Minimum Qualifications: Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated written or verbal instructions; Ability to perform mathematic functions and understands basic laws of physics applicable to particular measurements or control equipment. This ability is normally acquired through completion of a high school education; Ability to troubleshoot and report findings on digital and analog equipment. This is normally acquired with 3 to 4 years’ experience with Electro/Mechanical equipment or an equivalent combination of training and experience; Ability to meet deadlines and to pay attention to detail while performing tasks is required; Knowledge of codes and regulations relative to installation and design of control systems; Reads and understands basic to advanced schematic diagrams of control systems; Must have good attendance record which includes no over extending of lunches or breaks; Must be able to install, troubleshoot and program basic to advanced controls systems including PLC’s or similar controllers.
Physical Abilities: Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. for short periods; Standing and walking may be required for up to 80% of the workday; Ability to climb ladders and stairs, ability to work overhead and in various other locations to calibrate or install both control and measurement equipment; Must be able to wear a respirator which consists of passing a medical survey, pulmonary function test and be medically cleared by a physician; To work safely and to follow the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures; Other duties as assigned.
