The Principal Scientist / Engineer for Cytiva is responsible for leading the research & development efforts in designing and developing membranes for Life Science Applications

This position is part of the Filtration Media R&D located in Pensacola, FL, USA and will be on-site. At Cytiva, our vision is, to advance future therapeutics from discovery to delivery.

What you will do:

  • Support new membrane development project. This includes pilot scale manufacturability readiness and process development.

  • Track record of using your membrane knowledge and experience to solve challenging technical problems.

  • Supporting and providing technical leadership for new membrane development and a strong focus on continuous improvement and quality across out entire organization

  • Supports Bioprocessing process optimization.

Who you are:

  • Ph. D in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry with 5+ years academic or industry experience in polymeric materials, polymer processing and surface modification or MS with 10+ years industry experience.

  • Hands on independent experimentation for producing and analyzing membranes. Plans, organizes, executes, tracks, and communicates project tasks and progress. Evaluates, recommends, and implements well-reasoned solutions to technical problems.

  • Provides scientific input and contributes to other project teams. Directs and provides feedback to the operators assigned to the project team. Work in close collaboration with team members and other functional groups (R&D, QA, PE, Operations, Supply Chain etc.) towards the attainment of project objectives.

  • A documented track record leading and delivering technically challenging membrane development projects.

  • Submission of invention disclosures to work safely and to comply with the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Project management skills or training

  • New product development experience

  • Communicate effectively through technical reports and presentations

The salary range for this role is 95,800.00 - 167,400.00 USD Annual. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
