Danaher Corporation QA Lab Technician in Pensacola, Florida
What you’ll do
Essential Job Functions:
The QA Lab Technician is responsible for performing the following duties and responsibilities:
Conducts routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process, and finished goods under supervision and according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Perform inspections of incoming finished products.
Prepares chemical solutions; bacterial suspensions, plate media, and control standards in accordance to SOP
Independently collects samples throughout the plant for chemical and environmental testing
Reviews supplier paperwork for accuracy and compliance with internal requirements
Review technical documentation and finished goods batch records
Review records and documents for completeness and compliance with company policies
Review material certifications against specifications to ensure compliance to specifications and procedures
Writes technical reports and revises SOPs as needed.
Maintains laboratory chemical supplies, etc.
Enters Quality test records in databases
Perform SAP transactions for tested materials.
Assist and coordinate troubleshooting, calibration, and PM of lab equipment.
Identify non-conforming test results and escalate for investigation
Performs routine laboratory tasks to maintain equipment, such as washing glassware, wrapping, and autoclaving equipment, filling out equipment logs, wiping down work surfaces, stocking supplies and similar tasks
Document all inspection and test results appropriately to ensure the integrity of the quality data recording and reporting process.
Respond timely to requests for testing and inspections.
Identify and segregate non-conforming material.
Ensure any investigation, OOS, non-conforming material result is immediately reported to QA Manager
Ensure that lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
Review production batch records, QC test results and release product
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Biology, Chemistry or Engineering with 1 year experience /or AA degree in related field with at least two years relevant lab/industry experience
Must be able to work in a BSL (Bio Safety Level) 2 Lab.
Ability to perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and depth perception
Working knowledge of basic computer operations, word processing and spreadsheet software
Able to accurately collect data, and perform basic analysis of data (average, range, min, max)
Able to do the required calculations for preparing solutions from standards and dilutions
Organized and attentive to details
Able to present and interpret data in graphical format
Ability to comprehend and follow verbal/written procedures and instructions
Ability to work with chemicals and lab/plant equipment
Effectively work with individuals across various organizational levels and departments
Able to work flexible shifts and hours, including overtime as necessary
The ability to maintain clean working environment and perform daily tasks in an organized fashion
Ability to prioritize and manage time to ensure tasks are completed on schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of QA testing procedures
Ability to recognize and troubleshoot abnormal test results
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment
Ability to work on several simultaneous assignments while maintaining proper attention to detail
The ability to successfully meet deadlines
The ability to maintain clean working environment and perform daily tasks in an organized fashion
Working knowledge of basic computer operations, word processing and spreadsheet software
Experience using GC, HPLC, Microplate readers, cell cultures. Karl Fisher, Ion Chromatography, Soxhlet Extraction, and liquid particle counters
Experience with aseptic techniques and colony counting
