Danaher Corporation Senior Engineer in Pensacola, Florida

The Senior Engineer is key part of the Media R&D team leading and participating in new product development projects and working to expand our capability in terms of materials and processes. Essential Job Functions Prepares and executes research and development plans, individually and/or as part of team.

  • Communicates project status and results with team and to management through regular meetings and updates.

  • Provides technical leadership in a scientific or engineering discipline. Sets technical directions relevant to business needs. Communicates research status and implications.

  • Works with business units to develop new products and solutions to meet customer requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline with relevant experience in the field. -OR- similar MS degree with 3-5 years of relevant industrial experience.

  • Relevant work experience in R&D, product/process development, and/or manufacturing.

  • A “hands-on” approach to the work is essential.

  • Experience with membrane materials and synthesis is preferred.

  • Phase inversion membrane experience is preferred.

  • Experience with coating processes.

  • Experience/expertise in scale up of processes is preferred.

  • Ability to work as a part of diverse, multi-functional teams.

  • Primary contributor for media research and development. Able to lead sub-projects and/or projects in area of expertise.

  • Conducts in-depth quantitative or qualitative analysis to solve problems and develop new, innovative solutions.

  • Designs, plans, and conducts effective experiments targeted to gain needed knowledge and information for project success.

  • Clearly and effectively analyzes, summarizes, and communicates progress and results in oral and written form.

  • Demonstrated sound application of engineering discipline.

  • Generates invention disclosures and contributes to IP portfolio.

  • May supervise one or more Technicians, junior Scientists or Engineers in department providing technical guidance and direction.

  • Must be able to work safely and to comply with the company’s health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
