Our production team is seeking a Calibration Technician II to perform routine and complex tasks related to the calibration of our scientific instrumentation. This role will use a variety of hand and power tools, fixtures, jigs, test equipment and work instructions to correlate the readings of a specific instrument to those of a known standard to check for accuracy and/or drift. These instruments are used in oceanographic research that impacts climate change and public policy! Do you want to join us in our mission?
Essential Functions:
Use proprietary software to view daily work assignments, begin and end calibrations, track instrument data, and track equipment performance
Operate hardware such as manual deadweight pressure testers, hydraulic pressure testers, ovens, chillers, calibration bath hardware, pressure vessels, etc.
Interpret calibration results and evaluate sensor performance without oversight
Understand and meet quality and delivery requirements
Recognize and drive root cause analysis on sensor or system failures
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Participate in Kaizen events
Education, Background and Qualification Requirements:
2 year technical degree or equivalent experience
1-3 years of work experience in instrument calibration
Excellent attention to detail, and ability to perform precise procedures consistently
Excellent electro-mechanical skills, including troubleshooting
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of necessary instruments and tools
