About the Service Technician II role:
This role will provide high-quality repair and preventative maintenance services (PM), providing skillful diagnostic and troubleshooting for a large scope of site-level Sea-Bird Scientific equipment. This position will utilize a sophisticated understanding of electronic theory and mechanical aptitude to fix and/or repair instrumentation and components.
Use established work instructions or product-specific training to provide repair, calibration, certification, testing, and PM for equipment
Ensure that all service to our customers or company-owned equipment is completed according to specification
Perform circuit board repairs that may include: Soldering, wiring, replacement of inoperative electrical and/or mechanical parts
Document problems found and services performed following work protocols
Implement corrective actions leading to continuous improvement
Am I qualified?
Associates or Technical degree in Electronics, or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
3-5 years related experience in a manufacturing or service
Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Proven knowledge and ability to use power supplies and digital multimeters
Ability to work independently, as well as prioritize time efficiently
Strong attention to detail
