The Data Warehouse Architect (DWA) will work collaboratively with the business to serve Hach’s current and future data needs with focus on designing, implementing, and continuously improving Data Warehouse architecture, models, and data pipelines.
Our current data warehouse is implemented in an Azure environment in SQL server databases. It follows best practices from Inmon, Kimball, and Linstedt methodologies. We also plan to implement a Gen 2 Azure data lake to store non-structured and IoT data, a Knowledge Graph, and sophisticated analytics pipelines. We implement forward and reverse ELT processes, and fine-grained access control for delivery of data to multiple applications in multi-mode formats and channels. Data sets are exposed to consuming applications through subject focused data marts.
The DWA will facilitate VoC sessions with stakeholders of diverse professional backgrounds, reviewing source system layouts and schemas, analyzing, and discussing business and technical requirements, creating roadmaps, and delivering solutions that meet customer’s information needs.
This individual must be a strong customer focused data warehouse architect with the ability to design and implement Data Warehouse architecture and support a full lifecycle Data Warehouse operation. Designs involve conceptual, logical, and physical models for relational and non-relational data as well as DW instances implementation, operation, and optimization. Work closely with DBAs to transition logical models to physical implementation of data structures in SQL and No-SQL data bases.
Work with the development team to establish best patterns, practices, and standards as new technology arises.
Ability to move between high level architectural review/design and the “roll up the sleeves” level of providing architectural oversight and physical implementation for project delivery.
Develop comprehensive implementation plans along with delivering the output as defined in the project’s goals and objectives
Work with service, sales, product, marketing, operations, finance, and other functional business leaders to gather and help shape DW requirements and solutions.
Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent education and/or experience.
