Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced trade compliance professional to join our team in the role of Trade Compliance Operations, Reporting to the Sr. Director, Global Trade Compliance in the Dental Platform. The Manager will lead tactical operations for the Trade Compliance program centralized in Pomona, CA. Responsible for managing and coaching a Trade Compliance team. and maintaining a fully effective Import/Export compliance program. Manager will ensure compliance with U.S. regulatory law and internal policy requirements as they pertain to import/export processes, automation, classification, training, auditing, broker management and record keeping.

The ideal candidate must have extensive knowledge of US Import/Export Regulations as they pertain to the operations of a Distribution Center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Act as Operational Manager for US Trade Compliance matters •Document & maintain trade compliance policies that ensure maximum compliance with applicable import/export regulatory requirements and assure the effective and cost-efficient movement of goods and products across international borders •Collaborate with Sr Director of Trade Compliance on TC strategy •Supervise and mentor the TC Team to drive improvements and efficiencies of established TC processes to include guidance in their day-to-day compliance matters, classification, valuation, auditing and record keeping •Assure sites maintain a current and robust database of all product Export and Import classifications, leveraging tariff structures optimally •Identify, initiate, coordinate, and lead cross functional projects that improve existing processes to support trade compliance activities and business objectives •Manage supply chain trade security issues as per risk assessments (e.g. CTPAT) •Understand, quantify and communicate the risk of non-compliance via reporting to Management •Lead US Free Trade automation program including evaluation, validation, approval, and FTA maximization •Responsible for continuous improvement recommendations to Legal, Senior Management, Engineering, Sales, Import /Export and Shipping departments on processes that impact Trade Compliance •Information Technology - Liaison with IT to implement automation process for GTM and GT Konnect

Qualification
REQUIREMENTS: * BS or BA degree and a minimum of ten years of Trade Compliance experience * 3 years of project management experience, managing multiple projects with varying deadlines * 3 years people management experience including staff management and goal determination in line with Platform and DHR objectives * 5 years of experience in Customs Broker Management of shipments and performance * Ability to develop an internal audit program that assures compliance to Danaher standards PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: * Familiarity and/or experience with Danaher DBS, LEAN, Six Sigma or similar programs preferred * Comprehensive knowledge of US Import/Export Compliance regulations, HTS/ECCN classification, Country of origin determination and Custom valuation principles * Ability to clearly and concisely articulate findings and summarize recommendations both written and verbal * Strong influencing and negotiating skills and the ability to act as an internal advisor * Document retention – Maintain Trade Compliance records in full compliance with US regulations * Ability to develop training modules and lead employee training efforts on the topics of export, import, and free trade
