Pall Corporation is seeking a creative and ambitious Principal Scientist, Microelectronics Technology with a passion for photolithography and membrane science to join our R&D team in Port Washington, NY. This is a fantastic career opportunity to take an active role in discovering and developing next-generation porous filters tailored for semiconductor fabrication processes and contribute to our fast-growing microelectronics business segment.
Your Role as Principal Scientist:
Conducts Research and engages in New Product Development (NPD) of advanced filtration projects independent of direct supervision. Provides R&D leadership within the group and cross-functionally as needed to drive innovation. Contributes to NPD roadmap using application knowledge from Semiconductor OEMs. This role is a part of our growing R&D team at the Filter Design Center of Excellence for Microelectronics to develop state-of-the-art filtration, purification and separation products and processes for advanced semiconductor markets in photolithography and wet etch and clean chemicals.
• Engage and collaborate with key leaders across our organization to establish and drive a path for defect control solutions for advanced lithography applications• Strengthen and contribute to Pall Microelectronics IP with innovation and findings to enable next generation chip manufacturing technologies• Maintains collaborations with other research and academic entities that enable breakthrough innovation• Utilizes sound fundamentals like Design of Experiments (DOE)• Communicates clearly to leadership, team members, and other key partners.• Works with global teams by overcoming cultural and language barriers• Uses global R&D and engineering resources in other time zones• Participates in teleconferences during off hours• Requires 10% travel both nationally and internationally
Basic Qualifications • BS in Science or Engineering (MS or PhD highly preferred) with at least 8 years of R&D or product development experience is required.• Knowledge of advanced semiconductor wafer fabrication processes related to photolithography is required. Hands on experience with track processes is preferred.• Good understanding of in-line yield and wafer inspection metrology is highly desirable, as is exposure to wet etch and clean processes used in semiconductor fabrication and a range of analytical techniques to analyze and quantify very small quantities of organic and inorganic chemical impurities related to on-wafer defects • Knowledge of Filter Design, Fluid dynamics, Chemical and Hydromechanics, advanced membrane technology and exposure to surface modification of inorganic or organic substrates is desirable• Experience with process optimization using DOE and process scale-up is highly preferred
