Pall Corporation is seeking a distinguished Vice- President, R&D to provide strategic and technical guidance for Pall's $500MM Microelectronics business.

Scope of Role:
The Vice President, R&D leads the Global Research and Development function, this includes: Global people leadership, research, new product design, new product development and manufacturing transfer.
Responsible for driving New Product Development (NPD) from concept through to manufacturing stage and deliver in an expedited time to market.
The VP Technology will develop a firm understanding of customer applications and requirements, generate a portfolio of projects and technologies to address industry innovation needs, create analytical capabilities to support technology development, optimize and/or improve current development methodologies, practices and policies leveraging DBS, and screen new technologies relevant to the business.
The incumbent will lead the research and development of core materials science and membrane technology platforms through internal development and OI collaborations.
Through use of DBS tools, plan, direct, coordinate, and oversee global materials strategy and business plans in coordination with Microelectronics business, product management and planning team.
The VP Technology will furthermore lead identification and development of materials and technologies for emerging business areas

Drive the annual engagement survey as well as own the execution of follow-up activities, both for the organization as well as with people leaders.
Development of Microelectronics technology roadmap. Lead and initiate design reviews with multi-functional teams.
Creation of strategy to harness new areas of valuable technology through both Open Innovation (OI) and internal innovation
Represent the MicroE technology organization within the BU management team, in partnership discussions, and in external relationships and conferences.
Identify & Assess external technologies and integrate them into the Company’s platform through strategic alliances, sponsored research, and potentially grant-funded programs.
During OI partner cultivation phases provides significant contributions including strategic rationale, due diligence, business case and term sheet development
Establish effective portfolio management by optimizing stage gate models through PPG and SIR leadership, work with DBS Office; ensure a direct and cohesive connection between operations and MicroE priorities.
Monitor scientific and related industry trends for MicroE’s strategic intents, and work with the MicroE Leadership team to identify new opportunities and enhance business ventures
Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability for cost, schedule and technical performance of assigned project portfolios
DBS (Danaher Business Systems)
- Develop and continuously improve processes within NPD and project teams, including all relevant tools from the DBS Growth and Leadership domains. Link business needs and opportunities to DBS and develop a roadmap to close gaps, install/improve process, and sustain results.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or related engineering area together with an advanced degree (Masters/Ph.D.) 15+ years of Research, Development and Engineering experience with emphasis on support and sustainment programs. Experience with DOE processes.
10+ years people management experience, directly and indirectly leading organizations of 30 or more individuals, globally in a multinational senior leadership position
Leadership experience in semiconductor wafer processing/R&D, having managed process engineering in one or more key functional areas (Lithography-Tracks, Wet Cleans, RIE, in-line yield etc.)
Familiarity with defect inspections in advanced wafer fabs, various chemicals used in advanced technology nodes, process integration and their impact on die yields
Knowledge of the Global Microelectronics (Semiconductor and Macro-electronics) marketplace with experience ideally in filtration and separation processes or related disciplines including knowledge of the regulatory and quality requirements of customers and the industry
Experience with systems/processes like DFMA
Experience working with multi-cultural/multi-language teams in a global environment is a plus
Willingness to travel (international and domestic) up to 40% in support of project and business development efforts, and in support of a global staff
Excellent team / cross functional collaboration skills
Ability to Interface with geographically dispersed clients on an as needed basis – milestone meetings, unexpected delivery issues, client relationship building, etc.
Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness

Proven ability as a strategic leader that effectively prioritizes and leads in a complex, large-scale matrix organization.
Demonstrated ability to lead an organization through significant change without losing momentum; ability to inspire continuous focus on key business drivers, as well as Pall Industrial’s mission and values.
Experience in successfully leading DBS Innovation tool set or similar innovation tools; benchmark with Danaher Operating Companies for innovation best practices.
Demonstrates strong conceptual thinking skills, quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong business acumen.
Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in innovation and business skill set through continuing education.
