We have an exciting new position for a graduate Automation Engineer to join our R&D Biotech team!
As the Automation Engineer I, you would work within the R&D group to develop automation on production systems for the Biopharmaceutical market.
Responsibilities also include:
Develop automation from the early phase, managing specifications, design, industrialization, and transfer to manufacturing as part of a global multi-disciplinary product development team.
This role will focus on common standards for automation architecture and overall strategy in collaboration with hardware and software engineering.
Interact with and support other departments and outsourced teams (such as Supply Chain, Quality, Logistics and Product Management) to facilitate handover and ensure all have required knowledge of products.
Working with process specialists to translate bioprocess requirements into automated system user requirements and functional specifications.
Assemble and test controller prototypes and perform modifications.
Working with automation suppliers to review technical documents e.g. software design specifications.
Defining what tests need to be performed on the automated system to meet the functional requirements then execute these test procedures.
Competencies & Qualifications:
Minimum degree or equivalent in a relevant Engineering field or Computer Science degree with relevant automation experience.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing project plans and reporting plans/results to management.
PLC and HMI programming (preferably knowledge of Siemens, Rockwell and Wonderware System Platform).
Knowledge of electrical design.
Familiarity with common communications protocols such as OPC-DA/UA and Modbus (serial and Ethernet).
