The Design Engineer II reports to the Senior Engineering Manager, Air Product Line and will be responsible for performing tasks and work content concerned with the design, development, and qualification of Pall products. Perform engineering calculations or simulations to accurately predict product performance and create a design on schedule and within cost goals. Develop skills and competence as an engineer within the Air Product Stream.
The global Air Product Line exists to enable Pall to remain the market leader in providing competitive state-of-the-art filtration solutions by delivering differentiated, high-quality, compliant designs which are easily manufacturable and rapidly deployed to the market; whilst facilitating career growth and development. This position is part of the Pall Aerospace Technology Team and will be located in Harbourgate (Portsmouth), United Kingdom or New Port Richey, Florida.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Generate and develop optimized aircraft equipment and systems solutions that solve complex user problems. Using computer-aided design for modelling and drafting, and analysis tools for fluid flow calculations and stress calculations. Working with Engineering Analysts, Production Specialists and Certification Specialists to produce user-friendly, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly solutions on time and to budget.
Create and update manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation for new products and through-life support of production in manufacturing plants.
Maintain established project schedules and manage tasks through the design cycle.
Progress projects through the development life cycle from requirements capture to qualification, supporting testing and validation activities where applicable in conjunction with the Certification Specialists.
Utilize and master tools from the Danaher Business System toolset to drive continuous improvement.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or related field (Mechanical, General, Aerospace, Electronic, Product Design, etc.).
Two (2)+ years of related engineering experience in Aerospace or equivalent, highly regulated industry
Ability to learn to apply engineering theories and concepts to complex problems.
Familiar with ISO 9000 or AS9100 engineering design requirements and Aerospace best practices or standards.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Understanding of Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools and how and when they should be applied.
CATIA V5 or similar CAD packages.
