We are currently seeking aJunior Welding Engineerto support our growing business.

Position Objective:* * This is a great opportunity for an experienced TIG Welderto work for a large, dynamic and fast paced global organisation. As a Junior Welding Engineer you willprogress through a development and training plan to enable you to be responsible for the coordination,development and ownership of all aspects of welding within Pall Portsmouth.

Role and Duties:

· Management and control of welding consumables on site · Management and control of welding surveillances on site · Investigate welding non-conformances · Manage and control the welder prolongation process in accordance with EN ISO 9606, 14732 and ASME IX and other industry standards. · Manage training and technical support for the use of site welding software and databases · Creation of welding dossiers to support customer/project requirements. · Support with third party agencies - qualification of new procedures/welders. · Review and help interpret customer welding specification requirements. Implement the requirements in production documentation and processes. · Help develop welding techniques, procedures, qualifications to: Meet business requirements and to advance the technology used within Pall. Reduce costs and improve quality within the field of welding within Pall. · Research and report on technical advancements in welding technology to improve efficiency and quality. · Standardise welding documents and drive welding improvements.**

Qualification
*Basic Qualifications / Experience: *

· Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND in a Mechanical engineering discipline or other similar engineering discipline, or demonstrate equivalent by experience · Computer Literate with MS Office Suite, Excel, Outlook · Self-starting individualwith a high degree of drive to complete projects · Excellent Organisational Skills and attention to detail · Strong Sense of accountability and willingness to take responsibility for technical decisions · Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team · Experience of TIG welding engineering processes, technologies and application. · (Desirable) Understanding of NDT techniques and acceptance criteria e.g. Visual, Dye Penetrant, Radiography, Ultrasonic
