As the Product Engineer, you will ensure that equipment related to mixing technology and bioreactors designs can be manufact ured, sustained and managed with the expected quality. You will provide first line support for equipment complaints, supplier development, supplier validation and supports VAVE, NPD and sustainment engineering and life cycle management projects.

Responsibi lities:

  • You support new equipment supplier validation from first built unit to high volume manufacturing and perform and communicate risk assessments

  • You visit new hardware suppliers to execute validation plans, teach and lead them, inspect/FAT first built containers

  • You support equipment suppliers to implement general changes, design changes quality improvement opportunities and cost improvement projects

  • You are the initial point of contact within the BES group for equipment complaints; you analyze the complaint and work with QA to solve quality complaints

  • Lead, execute and maintain DFMEA & PFMEA’s

  • You understand supplier process capabilities and feed this back to the hardware designers

  • Lead Problem Solving Process (PSP) activities

  • Support business unit level complaint resolution, utilizing tools such as FRACAS and Customer Defect Tracking and Resolution (CDT&R)

  • Technical support of process and product for the Build Team within the Module

  • Provide technical support to NPD and NPI project teams during the development and implementation of new technologies

  • Purchase relevant tooling required for manufacturing activities where required

  • Support installation and service requirements

  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement activities

  • Lead cost reduction programmes as delegated

  • Ensure legislative protocols are adhered to

  • Identify and implement appropriate safe working methods and practices

Education & Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline preferred, HNC / HND in an Engineering field may be considered

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in engineering.

  • Experience of a project based manufacturing environment.

  • Demonstrate technical leadership skills.
