The Senior Engineering Manager, Systems Engineering and Airworthiness reports to the Director of Engineering, Global Services and Airworthiness and is responsible for leading the systems engineering functions, including specialty analysis (e.g., CFD and stress analysis), reliability, and qualification test support. The office of airworthiness includes designated engineering representatives, and key individuals to maintain CAA/FAA/EASA compliance, and design authority approval for the Aerospace Technology organization. This function is responsible for compliance and audits by external regulatory agencies to maintain Part 21 DOA and FAA PMA.

The overall global engineering services exists to: Enable the product value streams to execute and deliver against our customer needs and Aerospace’s strategic plan by providing global standard work (to include drafting, compliance, and other complementary services) to ensure right first-time design whilst facilitating early career growth and development. This position is part of the Pall Aerospace Technology Team and will be located in New Port Richey, Florida or Harbourgate (Portsmouth), United Kingdom.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide direction to technical service team and ensure compliance to organization’s configuration management, qualification engineering, and other operating procedures and processes.

  • Develop comprehensive work assignments in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Work collaboratively with product line values stream and R&D teams to achieve objectives and produce necessary deliverables.

  • Manage the maintenance of Pall Aerospace global design approval authority procedures and handbooks for CAA Part 21 Subpart J, and for FAA parts manufacture approval (PMA).

  • Manage the continued development and facilitate the identification and selection of Designated Engineering Representative (DER) and Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) representatives.

  • Develop and release Qualification Test Procedures (QTP) and compile test results into Qualification Test Reports (QTR) for submittal to customer.

  • Deliver a Systems based approach to new product development throughout the product lifecycle, by providing support from early-stage concept thinking, through requirement definition, system analysis and modelling, though to integration, verification, validation, and qualification.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or equivalent technical field with minimum 10 years’ technical experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of technical supervisory experience.

  • Experience with applying lean product development tools (e.g., DBS) in the engineering environment.

  • Experience managing a highly technical engineering team (e.g., design, analysis, air worthiness) and compliance (e.g., REACH, Trade, Disposal) in a highly regulated industry.

  • Experience managing the maintenance of Aerospace Airworthiness procedures or similar highly regulated critical procedures.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding of Danaher Business Systems (DBS) tools and how and when they should be applied.

  • Developing a staffing plan that meets the design authority requirements and allocates resources appropriately.
