The Senior Manager, Client Technologies - EMEA is a critical role that requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills and the ability to manage a team responsible for providing End User support services. Support requirements can include Desktop Management, infrastructure installations, conference room/collaboration management and interfacing with internal teams. The role will collaborate with local leaders to understand the needs of the business and participate in projects and other expansion efforts which are company specific.

This position is part of the Global IT Department and is an onsite role located at our Portsmouth, UK Sales and Services Headquarters. Current expectations would be to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week. However, the number of onsite days per week could fluctuate based on needs.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of 15 IT Professionals, supporting 2500 End Users, across 12 locations

  • Resolve technical issues promptly and effectively, while maintaining all relevant procedures and documentation

  • Fully manage and coordinate the deployment, maintenance, support and upgrade of all end user IT equipment, operating systems and applications, server and network infrastructure, and printing systems

  • Align IT Support services with overall IT and organizational goals. This includes being a working technical manager supporting end users

  • Manage a forecast of $1.1M and work with IT and Finance Leaders to maintain forecast accuracy

  • Ensure the team follows policies, procedures, and standards. Participate in policy deployment, compliance management and audit reviews

  • Ensure users receive superior support services and the smooth onboarding of new resources in coordination with HR and other applicable stake holders

  • Paricipate in Manger on Duty rotation to ensure uptime on critical systems

    The essential requirements of the job

  • Experience supporting a production environment with a high degree of complexity. Comprehensive understanding of computer hardware and software technologies. This can include laptops, desktop, servers, firewalls, wireless access points, switches

  • Ability to act as a Problem Manager, determine key stakeholders, creation of action plans detailing next steps, owners and timescales and provide RCA

  • Strong communication skills. Ability to build strong, effective partnerships with regional business leaders, other IT teams, support service vendors and suppliers and able to influence complex situations

  • Experience implementing and managing ITIL-based incident, problem and change management processes. (SLAs, KPIs, MIM)

  • Experience mentoring and coaching others, building a cohesive team. Building the skills of your teams is critical and is done through performance management, conducting employee reviews and addressing personnel issues

    It would be a plus if:

  • Continuous Improvement mindset

  • Provide out-of-hours support, potentially during holidays and ability to travel.

  • Bachelor/master’s degree in computer science or the overall experience in the Information Technology profession

  • ITIL Certification

    This position is part of the Aerospace team that have access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services. UK citizenship or legal resident status will be required for this position.
