The Senior R&D Automation Engineer works within the R&D group to develop automation on production systems for the Biopharmaceutical market! The role focuses on common standards for automation architecture and overall strategy in collaboration with hardware and software engineering!

What You'll Do:

  • Lead automation development, or improvement, from an early phase: managing specification, design, industrialization...

  • Transfer to manufacturing as part of a global multi-disciplinary product development team;

  • Serve as the architect of our control systems, automation and electrical design, aligning with our global standards;

  • Partner with internal and external automation vendors;

  • Define validation protocols and testing regimes. Assemble and test controller prototypes and perform modifications;

  • Support trouble shooting and maintenance remote or on-site at customers for newly developed and/or launched products;

  • Responsible for preparation of documentation of our products and systems;

  • Write procedures, documentation and reports related to tests and tasks performed.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering or relevant field. Master’s Degree preferred

  • 7 years relevant experience;

  • Expertise in Electrical design and PLC programming (PLC and HMI, Rockwell experience is an asset);

  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and directives (e.g. GAMP, CE, NRTL, LVD, USP, cGMP, Machinery Directive, EMC,...).

  • Good communication skills;

  • Continuous Improvement mentality;
