The coordination, development and ownership of all aspects of welding within Pall Portsmouth.
_Main Duties:_ * Creation and management of procedures and procedure/welder qualifications in line with EN ISO 15614, 9606, 14732 and ASME IX and other industry standards. * Creation and maintenance of welding software/databases for the control of all aspects of welding training and technical support for engineers, quality and manufacturing personnel. * Creation of welding dossiers to support customer/project requirements. * Organise with third party agencies qualification of new procedures/welders. * Interpret customer specifications in relation to their welding requirements and implement the requirements in production documentation and processes. * Develop welding techniques, procedures, qualifications to o Meet business requirements and to advance the technology used within Pall. o Reduce costs and improve quality within the field of welding within Pall. * Research and report on technical advancements in welding technology to improve efficiency and quality. * Standardise welding documents and drive welding improvements. * Implement actions as instructed by the Manufacturing Engineering Manager
_Knowledge & Key Skills:_ * Extensive experience of welding engineering processes, technology and application within a similar industry. * Understanding of NDT techniques and acceptance criteria e.g. Visual, Dye Penetrant, Radiography, Ultrasonic * Understanding and knowledge of EN ISO 3834, EN 13445 * TWI welding software or similar * Competent User of Windows, MS Office, MS Project, Outlook, Lotus Notes, SAP * Self-starting individual with a high degree of drive to complete projects * Excellent Organisational Skills * Excellent Attention to detail * Strong Sense of Accountability and willingness to take responsibility for technical decisions * Ability to work on own initiative or as part of a team _Essential Qualifications/Education:_ * Qualified to International/European Welding Engineer level (EN ISO 14731) * Qualified to a minimum of HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant material science or engineering discipline. * (Desirable) Certified IIW/EWF European Welding Engineer * (Desirable) EN ISO 9712 Level 2 in visual inspection (CSWIP Visual Inspection 3.1) * (Desirable) Knowledge and understanding of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED)
_Previous Experience:_ * 3-5 years welding experience within a similar industry in similar role
