Join our firmware team of 4 people to develop prototypes in different projects at our site in Puch, close to Salzburg.

Job Summary

As an experienced embedded system engineer, you will have a proven track record in the design and development of complex embedded Software/Firmware and electrical systems from conception through to production implementation. Furthermore, you will be involved in system design, prototype integration and final product verification activities. The candidate must have strong design skills and will be able to work with multidisciplinary teams for the design/implementation/maintain embedded software.

The right candidate is able to understand the product development process and is responsible for the technology incubation and growth in the Embedded Software domain.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team is a key requirement of this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with multidisciplinary product development teams to launch market-leading biomedical instrumentation products for Life Sciences Research on time, with high quality and within budget.

  • Participate in system/subsystem design review, finalize detail firmware design requirement by reviewing with system team, global engineering team.

  • Design embedded software for instrument covering from software architecture, requirement analysis, applications development and/or OS porting.

  • Responsible for the design/implementation/maintain embedded software.

  • Drive the design productivity improvement by standardizing design processes, tools, and design practices and build up a common platform.

  • Setup firmware design environment, need communicate with global marketing team and global R&D team to understand customer needs and create solution.

  • Prototype, integrate, test, and troubleshoot electronic, electromechanical and optoelectronic systems including mixed signal circuits, microcontrollers, communications, motion control, signal conditioning and line power

  • Document and control engineering changes

  • Pays attention to the details required in a validation compliant design and development environment, required for regulated market customers

  • Takes responsibility for own personal development and knowing about the market and competition

  • Aware of Health and Safety and conducts self in a way that does not put him/herself or any other person at risk

  • Learn and use DBS tools such as FMEA, Problem Solving, Poka-Yoke and Standard Work to achieve quality, delivery and cost targets and to continuously improve processes

  • All other responsibilities and/or other related duties as assigned


  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Software Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automation or related field with working experience.

  • Experience in communication programming on RS232/RS485/Ethernet/SPI/I2C/USB.

  • Experience with Stepper Motor Controller (Trinamics), Analog Digital Converter (ADC/DAC/Digipoti) and Memory (Flash/EEPROM)

  • Proficient in C/C++ coding and experience with FPGA / CPLD and related IDEs (Xilinx ISE) and Verilog, VHDL, Schematic programming

  • Proficient with normal ARM/MCU hardware architecture (STM32) and general IDE (Visual Studio, Visual GDB, CubeMX, GIT, CCS, IAR).

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in analog/digital design, analytical instruments experience desirable.

  • Hands on experience with oscilloscope, logic analyzer and lab equipment.

  • Min 2 years in design and development of complex electromechanical products representing a broad range of technologies including robotics, fluidics, and optics.

  • Must have flexibility of working hours around worldwide time zones.

    We offer an attractive remuneration package: monthly fixed salary of at least

    € 3.569,- plus variable remuneration. A readiness for overpayment with corresponding qualification and experience is available.
