We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant in Puch bei Hallein (Austria) who will be responsible for financial and accounting tasks such as European accounts payable management and VAT compliance, fixed assets management, involvement in forecasting and budgeting process and internal and external reporting and other areas as assigned. It is key that these processes are accurate, complete and in accordance with country requirements and company policies and are continually adjusted and improved as necessary.

What we’ll get you doing:

  • You will be responsible for accounts payable and payments processing for our European companies

  • Tax related matters such as monthly and annual VAT returns and VAT compliance as well as the tax package for income taxes fall into your area

  • You are involved in monthly forecasting and annual budgeting process, preparation of monthly management accounts and variance analysis

  • You will also be responsible for other areas in general reporting and daily accounting (e.g. fixed assets management, prepayments, accruals…)

  • You take on the communication with other departments, our international offices and external authorities and support internal and external audits

  • You support with assigned tasks and projects

  • You actively support and initiate continuous improvement ideas and roll out procedural changes within your area of responsibility and ensure compliance by adhering to internal control requirements

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • Certified Accountant (e.g. ACCA, Bilanzbuchhalter) with decent knowledge of accounting principles and VAT regulations.

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in an international operating company, with a good knowledge of accounts payable management, VAT compliance and fixed assets management.

  • A good level of English and German, written and spoken, is required.

  • Experience of working with ERP system, preferably Oracle.

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, in particular MS Excel skills (ability to perform pivots, V-lookups and other functions with Excel).

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Understanding of US GAAP, local GAAP and tax books

The minimum gross annual salary is € 60.000 with the willingness to overpay according to qualifications and professional experience.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
