Job Summary

The Project Manager of FIT (Fast Impact Team) Engineering leads and manages a multi-functional team working on R&D FIT projects; Sustainment Activities supporting manufacturing, Service, Sales, Sourcing, Custom Solutions (AWES); and co-developing with external partners.

The Project Manager FIT Engineering prioritizes the incoming tasks and activities on a daily basis to make sure that those highest priority for the business are prioritized. The manager also leads the team, continuously provides guidance and feedback to further support the growth and development of the team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily prioritization of tasks in FIT teams responsibility

  • Visualization of tasks and projects in VPM (visual project management)

  • Communicate with other departments to gain alignment on tasks, projects, prioritization and timeline

  • Attend global calls (triage meeting to further improve product quality and to discuss quality issues)

  • Coach, mentor and develop team members and support their continual professional development

  • Provide leadership and effective management to direct reports and cross functional team ensuring they each have clear objectives and are working towards delivering to product roadmap and company strategy

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments within Molecular Devices (MD) Austria and MD internationally to ensure most efficient cross-functional communication and team work to ensure successful launch of product to marketplace. Key partners are R&D, our manufacturing organization as well as our worldwide service organization

  • Ensure team is compliant with company policies and processes

  • Actively promote and lead the use of Danaher Business System (DBS) within the team

  • Responsible for Health, Safety and Environment of the team

  • All other responsibilities and/or other related duties as assigned

Qualification:

  • R&D experience or Engineering qualification and experience within the life sciences sector

  • Minimum 3 years working in a leading engineering or life science function or project management function

  • Preferred minimum 3 years in leading a team of three or more associates

  • English written and spoken to high standard

  • Preferred German written and spoken to high standard

  • Highly computer literate, regular user of MS Office
