What you'll do

  • Responsible to provide pre- and post-sales support for the Single Use Solutions – Xcellerex / WAVE product portfolio, product demonstrations, applications support, technical presentations, team selling activities, and customer product training within an assigned region.

  • Support achievement of commercial business objectives and high-level customer satisfaction and patronage for Cytiva products and services.

  • Support Account Managers and Upstream Sales Specialists for successful demonstrations, installations of Xcellerex / WAVE Bioreactors & Mixers and consumables.

  • Support customer projects using Xcellerex / WAVE products by providing product and applications information, answering inquiries, and giving presentations.

  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver product training to Customers, Account Managers, and Sales Specialists on Xcellerex/ WAVE products and applications within assigned region.

  • Improve customer satisfaction and retention through troubleshooting and continuing education and optimization of customer processes.

  • Maintain effective communication with customers and gather information on the customers' needs and relay that information to the sales force to identify present and future customer needs and to enhance customer relations, where applicable.

  • Support trade shows and professional conferences by performing product demonstration and seminars.

  • Use market and product knowledge to assist sales teams in developing sales, marketing, and customer account sales strategies.

  • Provide competitive product insight and provide regular feedback on customer satisfaction and needs to internal stakeholders.

  • Support Account Managers and Sales Specialists on development and finalization of Xcellerex / WAVE bids/quotes to meet customer requirements.

  • Provide leadership on Xcellerex/ WAVE hardware and consumables sales. This includes knowledge of customers' plans & needs, Cytiva products, applications, marketing & sales support collateral, and competitors' portfolios.

  • Support field investigation of SUT product complaints.

  • Champion Practical Process Improvement (PPI) initiatives and Design in activities.

  • Support installation, training, troubleshooting, process development, technology transfer/scale-up, and documentation for Cytiva bioreactors at customer sites.

  • Serve as a technical expert for cell culture processes and Cytiva single-use bench- and large-scale bioreactor systems internally and for biopharmaceutical/biotechnology customers.

  • Ensure Salesforce.com adoption for metrics aligned with Single Use Technology Business Unit

    Quality Specific Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Global Privacy and Anti-Competition Policies (including but not limited to Cytiva HIPPA Guidelines, NEMA Regulations, etc.) and operates within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int'l Law is broke

  • Knowledge and understanding of all Environmental Health Policies (including but not limited to GE Healthcare EHS Policies, GE Healthcare Fleet Rules, etc.) and operate within them to ensure that no company policy or US / Int'l Law is broken.

  • Aware of and comply with the Cytiva Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position

  • Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlinesIdentify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required

  • Drive continuous improvement on all related processes, work instructions, and procedures to ensure ongoing standardization and simplification of the Quality Management System.

Who you are

  • Minimum postgraduate degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant science/engineering with 5+ years of experience or bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of scientific laboratory experience in cell culture.

  • Experience in cell culture application, cell culture software, process development, and process control.

  • Strong, working knowledge of Upstream and Perfusion unit operations.

  • Experience in biologics, cell therapy or gene therapy processes.

  • Ability to work in a team and leadership qualities with proven experience, and success working cross functionally with various teams are desirable.

  • Good customer service experience is desirable.

  • Understanding of cGMP, validation and regulated environments for bioprocessing.

  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills. Strong presentation skills (public speaking and lecture experience desired)

  • Proficient in English verbal and written communication.

  • Independent self-starter who can work to achieve or exceed defined goals.

  • Senior Bioreactor Application Scientist candidate would be required to satisfy in advanced experience in the technical/scientific criteria.

  • Experience with the Cytiva UNICORN, Wonderware, Emerson DeltaV, or other control systems desirable.
