Position Objective

A Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the following:

  • Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting & issue resolution of production lines needs around production schedule to reduce downtime

  • Repairs or replaces control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starters, thermocouples, etc. as needed.

  • Repairs and maintains plant machinery and equipment such as Motors, Rollers, Compressors, Pumps and etc.

  • Troubleshoot and view programs to PLC’s

  • Daily rounds of facility for pH system, calibration of pH probes and identifying potential problems/system outliers

  • Identifying and requesting spare parts needs and working with suppliers or contractors as needed

This person will work with little supervision, so they must be capable of working alone or in a team environment. They will need to communicate easily with all members of the facility to meet changing needs.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform and document basic maintenance to include assembly, disassembly, and cleaning of mechanical components of equipment, i.e. maintain equipment in “as-new” condition

  • Ensure a safe working environment through application of LOTO, JHA’s, HazMat Handling, Nonstandard Work Forms, LOTO and GMP practices

  • Identify process and equipment problems to resolve root cause of problem and implement appropriate corrective action(s)

  • Troubleshoot and repair all equipment breakdowns during the shift

  • Raise any equipment issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 5 to 7 years relevant manufacturing experience, including maintenance and troubleshooting equipment

  • Knowledge of AC-DC drives, pumps, motors, liquid ring vacuum pumps, rotating equipment, pneumatic valves and regulators

  • Must be able to work occasional overtime with little or no notice. May be called on during off-shift for emergency break downs

Preferred & Other Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

  • The ability to climb ladders and perform elevated work using a man lift or harness

  • As required, confined space entries

  • As required, the ability to safely work with certain solvents, chemicals and equipment

  • Basic understanding of structured problem-solving approaches, e.g. PSP , preferred

  • Hot Work, Arch Flash, LOTO, Confined Space Entry, Waste Water Treatment, RCRA, DOT, preferred

  • Knowledge of wastewater systems, preferred
