As a Software Centric Innovation Danaher Business System Leader (DBSL) at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics you’d be responsible for coaching Agile Software best practices within the world class business framework provided by Danaher Business System (DBS). This is done through hands on support of teams, functions, and leaders to create a deeper understanding and commitment to DBS centric software processes and industry best practices. Further the Innovation DBSL role is targeted at the Innovation and Growth segment, with a focus on new product development and organizational activities that foster stronger innovation.

This position is part of the Clinical Chemistry and Immunoassay Business Unit and will be based in Chaska, MN or can be remote based within the US. As a member of the DBSL community you will partner with teams throughout the business unit, to advance not just DBS software tools but also the use of DBS Fundamentals and the Innovation tools. This includes planning, facilitating, and sustainment of kaizens in support of key initiatives. You will be part of the DBSL team, reporting to the Laurie Chidester, and responsible for enhancing our Agile practices focused on product outcomes, DBS Software Tools, actions related to the software KPIs, and support of a DBS culture geared towards innovation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive DBS led Agile Software processes into the organization.

  • Combine appropriate industry Agile best practices with DBS

  • Become certified in the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

  • Develop certified Scrum Masters and Certified Product Owners

  • Provide hands-on mentoring by attending daily management, kaizen report outs and other key project events to deliver “real-time” coaching

  • Ensure DBS Fundamentals are being utilized intentionally, and with the right mindset, by providing routine coaching, mentoring, and support.

  • Lead DBS-related events and trainings within your site, as well as across the business unit, serving as the DBS standard-bearer for the organization.

  • Become a certified practitioner (CP) in one or more of the DBS Fundamentals, leverage practitioner training in kaizen as well as development of additional CPs.

  • Manage Software Kaizen Funnel for site.

  • Manage and drive a Software Kaizen Funnel for Innovation Initiatives.

  • Coach, develop, guide, and challenge product owners, scrum masters, facilitators, team leaders, and leadership to ensure that kaizen objectives are achieved.

  • Develop Certified Trainer/Practitioner funnel for site(s) and provide support, mentoring, and opportunity to candidates.

  • Benchmark with other DBSLs, sites, and OpCos to identify improvement opportunities and incorporate them into site, or business unit, best practices.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or technology with 9+ years of relevant experience, Master’s Degree with 7+ years’ experience, or PhD with 4+ years’ experience

  • Agile Product development, Agile Coaching, or Scrum Master role experience

  • Scrum, SAFe (scaled agile framework), or other Agile process certification

  • Adept in change management with the ability to deal with a constantly evolving environment, effective influence and communication skills within difficult situations

  • Ability to travel is required (domestic and internationally) up to 25% of time.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Enterprise Software Development and/or Software Verification skills and experience

  • Event facilitation; includes Lean, Six Sigma, or direct DBS related tools or processes

  • Direct coaching and mentorship of organizational leaders; includes crucial conversations related to leader behaviors as well as challenges related to their organization.

  • Current ACP, or CP in Danaher Software System (DSS) preferred

  • Hands-on experience leading deployment of DBS tools: VSM, SW, TPI, 5S, PSP, VM/DM, VPM, or DSS preferred
