The Research Scientist II is responsible for planning and executing experiments, analyzing data and reporting/presenting findings in NGS applications. You will have opportunities to learn how to apply your scientific knowledge and NGS technologies to address specific scientific questions and to develop commercial products by working with a dynamic and highly skilled team.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Applies knowledge of basic science and employs solid laboratory skills to execute bench experiments using variety of molecular biology, cell biology, biochemical and general laboratory techniques as directed.
Plans experimental details required for execution of assigned work under minimal to moderate oversight.
Analyzes raw data, reports results and plans the next steps.
Interacts with and assists other members of the R&D team or other internal departments as needed to meet research objectives.
Leads or participates in the maintenance of laboratory and equipment
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Bioscience, Bioengineering, Chemistry or a related life sciences field with 2+ years hands-on wet bench relevant lab in academic or industry experience required, OR Master’s degree with 1+ year of experience.
Proficiency in a variety of PC software programs with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
NGS library prep and applications as well as qPCR preferred
Operating Hamilton and other liquid handlers preferred
NGS data analysis preferred
Modifying method scripts for library prep automation
Data analysis and statistics tool, such as JMP
The salary range for this role is $85,000 - $95,000 annually. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
