The Development Scientist for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the development and characterization of reagent chemistry processes (antigen development, antibody development, cell culture and microbiology, protein purification and characterization, scaling-up processes). You will participate in design and execution of experiments, daily activities, and coordinate work activities through collaboration with technical experts, management team and project leads. You will be a part of the Immunoassay Reagent Development group and report to the Manager Development Science

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Participating in a protein biochemistry/protein engineering team
Driven hands-on work in a protein expression/biochemistry laboratory (including cell lines/microbiology)
Independent exploration of research questions, including literature searches and project development
Supporting the implementation of new technologies and methodologies
Communicating project status and experimental data with cross-functional teams
Participating in technical discussions and decision-making processes
The essential requirements of the job include:
MSc degree in Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or medical related sciences) and 5 years of relevant work experience or PhD degree with 3 years of relevant work experience
Extensive experience and knowledge in protein engineering/recombinant technology in various systems, especially mammalian cells
Knowledge in protein purification and characterization methods
Knowledge in cloning methodologies, common molecular biology methodologies
Team player with good interpersonal skills
Highly organized with attention to detail
Excellent level of English
