The Scientist I, Bio-Process for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible to support development and execution of fermentation and downstream processes to produce proteins for the diagnostics industry. You will participate in design and execution of methods, daily activities, and coordinate work activities through collaboration with technical experts, project leads and the management team. The role includes manufacturing as well as development environments.

This position is part of the research and development center located in Rehovot, Israel and will be a full time on-site job. You will be a part of the Immunoassay Reagent Development group and report to the Manager, Development Science. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Support fermentation process operations for manufacturing and developing products.

  • Operate and maintain fermenters and related equipment, including assembly, sterilization and set up.

  • Participate in development, scale up and execute fermentation processes to meet production targets and quality standards.

  • Support downstream process.

  • Participate in technical discussions and decision-making processes.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry or a related field, with 0-2 years of experience.

  • Preferred experience: 5 years of hands-on experience in fermentation processes and bioprocessing.

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining fermenters and related bioprocessing equipment.

  • Experience in downstream processes is highly desirable.

  • Good level of English (Read, Write)
