The Director, Global Product Management CH Consumables for Leica Biosystems is responsible for continuously improving customer benefits and business value of the assigned portfolio by developing global strategies and tactics to drive core growth and profitability for a wide range of combination products and solutions for use in anatomic pathology labs as well as adjacent markets.

This position is part of the Director, Global Product Management CH Consumables located in Rihmond and will be hybrid. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead the Product Management and Application team of the Consumable Core Histology products ensuring efficient operation of the function.

  • Lead and owns the business performance of the assigned portfolio of products and solutions to meet or exceed revenue, profitability, and growth targets.

  • Lead the efforts to define customer business use cases, identify market, business opportunities and risks and translates into a winning portfolio and product strategy.

  • Own the strategic roadmap for responsible portfolios of team. Ensures development and execution of deliverables on roadmap.

  • Oversee the creation and analysis of quantitative market opportunity assessments (i.e. market sizing, driver assessment, growth rate estimations) and customer segmentation analyses

  • Conduct primary market research for multiple purposes (e.g. to measure customer satisfaction, identify purchasing criteria, define product messaging.

  • Deliver global positioning, core messages, value propositions, competitive strategies, and pricing. Collaborates with the commercial organization (Sales Unit and Marketing leaders) and local product managers by setting strategic pricing guidelines, developing and improving marketing tools/ sales trainings to maximize sales force effectiveness.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS/BA in marketing or health sciences, advanced degree preferred.

  • 10+ years of product management or marketing experience, preferable for medical device or in-vitro diagnostic industry

  • 5+ years of business and commercial experience in leadership positions in medical device or in-vitro diagnostic industry.

  • Successful track record of commercial success in development of product portfolio product definition, marketing strategies as well as successfully bringing new products to market.

  • Understands key business drivers and the factors that maximize performance for area of responsibility.

  • Willing and able to travel 20 to 40%, domestic and international

    It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Minimum 5 years LBS/Danaher experience in Product Management, Marketing, or Sales preferred.
