Maintain the day to day operations and to assume responsibility for maintaining the physical assets of the property under the direction of the maintenance supervisor. Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned. Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors. Maintain availability as required for on-call maintenance. Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, State and Federal guidelines. Work proficiently with little to no direction from manager/supervisor.
Major Responsibilities * Mechanical maintenance/service for various type of production equipment (filling and labeling equipment, milling/polishing equipment, etc.) * Mechanical maintenance/service for facility systems (air compressors, refrigeration systems, etc.) * Light fabrication as needed * General production equipment repair * General facilities (air piping, PVC piping, building upkeep, etc.) * General facilities support (snow removal, fire systems testing, wastewater start up/shut down, etc.) * Able to work from verbal and written procedures to support production * Must follow safe working practices and be in compliance with site procedures as well as industry regulations * Generate requisitions for materials, equipment, etc. * Completing all 5s duties as directed * May be required to work weekends and overtime, as needed
* Background in lean mfg. principals preferred * Must have tools to perform the work * Must be able to quickly and correctly evaluate issues to machinery/systems and be able to report on the issue with recommendations. * High school diploma or equivalent * Minimum 1 year proven track record of experience in production equipment maintenance * Must be able to read, understand and interpret mechanical, electrical and pneumatic drawings or schematics * Must have a strong mechanical aptitude * Experience in chemical/regulated manufacturing environment preferred * Ability to electrically troubleshot issues * Must be able to exert 50 to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, 25 to 50 lbs. of force frequently and 10 to 20 lbs. of force constantly * Will be required to work from ladders * Will have the potential to be exposed to: humid, outdoor weather conditions, high noise, dust Travel: 2% Language: English Competencies/Behaviors * Must be able to communicate (understand/speak) in English * Must work effectively in a group and/or independently * Must have basic computer skills * Must have basic math skills * Internal Relationships: * Reports directly to Maintenance Supervisor * Works cross functionally with the Operations department personnel External Relationships: * Works with vendors as needed to complete tasks * Works with all other departments within the facility Physical Demands & Working Environment The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
